My Second Life Is OverPower [VOL_1]

Prologue - The Beginning of Everything

Prologue - The Beginning of Everything

Jul 19, 2025

One morning, on the outskirts of the city

Syura was happily playing his favorite game. That morning, he wore a plain white shirt, black shorts, and had slightly messy hair.

"I'm going to defeat the Last Boss at this level!"

Syura was completely focused on fighting the Final Boss. To him, this battle was a matter of pride as a true gamer.

"Nice, its HP is down to less than 50%."

When both Syura and the boss were near death—perhaps just one more hit left—

Not long after that...

Syura’s mother called out, asking him to buy groceries.

“Syura... Syura...” his mother called, but Syura didn’t hear her.

Meanwhile...

Syura was still in his bedroom, fully focused on the final boss fight.

"This is it—no mercy for you!" Syura said in a determined and loud voice.

Then, just as the boss's health reached 1%, Syura’s mother opened his door.

Clack — the sound of the door opening.

“Syura! Go buy groceries for lunch, now!” she shouted loudly.

Syura replied,
“Just a minute, Mom—almost done,” still focused and not even turning to face her.

Frustrated at being ignored, Syura’s mother walked in and turned off his video game.

Click — the monitor went completely black, no data saved.

Syura was stunned as the screen went dead. He just stared at it silently, speechless.

“......”

Next to him, his mother stood holding a strong rattan cane.

“Are you going to buy the groceries or should this cane fly your way?” she said with a sharp glare and intimidating tone.

Syura tried to resist, stuttering,
“B-b-but Mom...”

But her aura remained heavy, the cane still in her hand.

“No buts. Go buy the groceries now.”

Without any more arguments, Syura packed up his gaming gear and got ready to leave for the minimarket. Not long after, his mother went back to cleaning the house.

Clack — the sound of Syura opening the door.

Standing outside his room, Syura closed the door and asked,
“What do you need me to buy, Mom? Write it down, I might forget.”

His mother replied softly,
“Alright, just a second, I’ll make a list.”

Soon after, she handed him a note with what he needed to buy:

  1. 1 kg chicken eggs

  2. Carrots

  3. Vegetables

  4. 1 kg chicken

  5. Spicy rica-rica sauce

Syura received the note.

“What are you making, Mom? Sounds like it’ll be delicious,” he asked.

“Just go buy them first. You’ll see,” she answered.

Then Syura stepped outside and left the house.

Bright sunlight lit the corners of the city. Syura had to walk to the city center because his home was in the outskirts.

On the way, Syura saw an elderly man trying to cross the street.

“Sir, where are you going?” Syura asked.

“I want to cross the street to buy pet food, but it’s too crowded,” the elderly man replied.

Since Syura was no longer in a rush, he decided to help the man cross.

“Come on, sir, let me help you across,” Syura offered.

“Of course, if it’s not too much trouble,” the man replied.

After helping him, Syura continued walking toward the city center minimarket.

There were many passing cars, office buildings, apartments, and shops along the roadside.

“Downtown is as busy as always,” Syura muttered.

Finally, Syura arrived at the minimarket in the city center.

He walked in, reached into his pocket, and pulled out the list his mom gave him.

“Five items... hmm... alright,” he muttered.

After collecting everything, he walked up to the cashier to pay.

At the cashier:
Beep... beep... beep... beep... beep — the sound of items being scanned.

“Your total is 100,000 rupiah,” said the cashier.

Syura paid and left the store.

“Finally done,” said Syura.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city...

On the 15th floor of a downtown apartment, an elderly woman stepped onto her balcony to water her plants.

Shfft... — the sound of the balcony door sliding open.

“What a beautiful, sunny day to water the plants,” she said.

She reached for a watering can from a black, three-tiered rack near her feet.

Everything was going smoothly...

But then...

Syura was on his way home, carrying the groceries.

“Mission from Mom is complete. Time to get revenge on that Last Boss,” he muttered with determined eyes.

Back on the 15th floor balcony—

While she was watering the plants, two cats—one orange, one black—suddenly came running toward the flower pot. One of them accidentally knocked it.

Clack — the sound of the pot being hit.

The elderly woman froze, shocked by the sudden commotion.

“.....”

Moments later, the pot fell.

Whooshhhh — the sound of the vase plummeting from the 15th floor.

At that exact moment, Syura was standing right below.

Thud... — the pot struck Syura squarely on the head.

“Wha... what is this...?” Syura said weakly, about to faint.

Soon after, Syura collapsed and lost consciousness.

Ten minutes later...

Wiu... wiu... wiu... wiu... — the sound of an ambulance rushing him to the hospital.

At the emergency room, the medical staff quickly attached devices to monitor his heart rate, breathing, and pulse.

Five minutes later—
Beep... beep... beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep — the sound of a flatline.

The staff kept trying, but Syura’s life could not be saved.

“Code blue... code blue,” echoed through the ER.

Syura was an ordinary young man living a life without any major problems. His days were filled with relaxing activities, especially playing his favorite RPG games. His life was almost perfect—stress-free, drama-free, and without any grand ambitions.

But everything changed because of one simple request from his parents: “Buy some groceries.”
Syura refused—obviously, it was a waste of gaming time! But in the end, he lazily went anyway.

The trip there went smoothly. But on the way back, a ridiculous twist of fate awaited him.
On the 15th floor of an apartment building, a mother was watering her plants. Unexpectedly, two stray cats began fighting right next to a large flower vase. One push—and the vase went flying down.

And at the most “unlucky” moment in human history... Syura was walking right beneath it.

A loud bonk, darkness, and a hospital—and then... death.

But death was not the end for Syura.
