This all started a few years ago, well actually I guess that's not entirely true. It started much earlier. I guess the fact that I'm a loner kinda helped me progress too, I mean I didn't have anything else to do, and even though I don't generally like people all that much I do like helping the ones in need and trashing the shitty ones.
Don't get me wrong though, this isn't because of some sense of justice, it's just that people tend to root for you rather than try to tear you apart when you are going after what society sees as the 'bad guys' if you will. Although since what I'm doing is illegal I do have cops up my ass twenty for seven. Which as pleasant as that may sound to a gay guy, I don't quite mean it in the fun way.
Anyway, I was born 17 years ago, so 2020 basically. I could use electronics at a young age, but everyone my age could so that's not that big a deal. However, I lert to hack, which yes, is pretty popular now but trust me when I tell you, no one can code and decode like I can. It’s seriously a talent, one of the few I have, but nonetheless a talent. It's pretty useful in a digital age like this. I mean I can literally get anything with a few clicks of my keyboard.
I'd be lying if I told you I didn't developed a bit of a god complex at the beginning of all this. I mean when you get the hang of it and do something real... like possibly change your grades... or something, and then you get that piece of paper with the numbers you messed with on your little laptop all alone in your room, now literally in your hands, it makes you realize that the power you have is real.
I made some mistakes when I was still learning though and I got caught, not by the police but by another hacker. Which I quickly found out could be way worse than being given a scolding in the precinct. The guy literally wiped my computer and fried it, then proceeded to steal all my savings. Sure it was a few hundred bucks of allowance but to me it was like losing a few thousand. Yea, it touch me awhile to recover from that. It also motivated me to get better, much better. And unfortunately for him, I hold grudges, for a long fucking time.
As a result, a few years later when I was feeling confident enough, I got back at him by doing the exact same thing to him that he did to me. I wasn't stupid about it thought, I put up so many fail safes the guy would not be able to find me even if he got those cyber cop assholes to help.
Anyway, I'm just going to fast forward a bit here too a few years ago when I decided to start something, a group of sorts if you will. We call ourselves Nameless. I don't know, it just seemed fitting since we were supposed to stay in the shadows. No one was ever supposed to know who we really were, we were hackers after all.
We weren't the first group like this made, there had been a few other big names years before us. They either disbanded after a certain number of years or became something that they weren't originally. There mistakes made it easier for us to make a good group though. We had already seen what could go wrong and put measures in place to take care of those kinds of problems if they arose.
At the beginning I just wanted to make a group that kind of did whatever they wanted, as long as they didn't damage random ass people for no reason. Because as soon as that happens the public turns against you. I mean like I said, the police didn't approve any way but I don't really give a shit what they think so that doesn't matter.
Eventually though this group got big, and I don't mean like a country big, I mean like the world big. We ended up with members literally all over the world, and articles about us write in every language. Which still to this day I find hard to grasp. I mean it's not like I see it, not really anyway. For me, I'm still here, alone in my basement apartment, working on my computer in the dark. Well actually that's not quite where I am right now, but i'll tell you that in a second.
Anyway, back to the point. We made a lot of enemies as a group, and that included basically every government everywhere. So you can imagine how that might make things difficult, especially with all the arrests that started happening. People got scared and we lost a lot of members but that didn't really matter to me, we weren't supposed to get so crazy big anyway. Plus if they got caught, that's on them. Don't get me wrong, if there's something I can do to help them then I do, well, if I have the energy to anyway, or if I’m not to busy, or if I care enough that day.
Suffice to say I didn't have a ton of friends, even in the group. I mean yea we all kinda understand each other on a different level but even with that I found it hard to connect with them. There were maybe three other very skilled hackers in the group that I talked to like friends, well maybe more like half way between friends and acquaintances. I don't think they would actually bale me out if I got into shit, especially since they don't know that i'm actually the one who started the group. Infact, no one in the group knows that i'm the one that started it and organizes the big raids. I think it's better that way, so I can stay protected.
Which I guess with where I'm sitting now didn't work as well as I had hoped. I mean I know they don't know who I am, not really, but they definitely know i'm a hacker, and they brought me here so i'm sure they know that the hat I'm wearing is not white.
Oh right, here, where I'm sitting right now, I guess I should tell you.
Well my hands are currently handcuffed to a table and i'm in an interrogation room. Yea, I know that sounds bad, and that's probably because it is. And if you're thinking that i'm here because I made a hacking mistake, then you would be both stupid and wrong because I think I made it pretty clear that I'm as good as it gets when it comes to hacking. No, instead the mistake I made was going outside.
You think i'm kidding, but I’m serious.
My apartment suddenly flooded and since it's a basement apartment you can imagine how fantastic that was for me. Literally all my expensive hardware was fried, not joking, literally all of it. So I ended up needing to by some new stuff. I only bought a laptop to start though because my apartment is still a swimming pool so I can't buy all my stuff until i have a place to put it again.
I decided to start adding some firewalls to my laptop right after I bought it, because I couldn't go back to doing what I do without being armed to the teeth with ways to protect my identity. So I sat on a bench in the park down the street from the electronics store to do my thing.
Yea this is where I end up regretting that decision.
So I'm sitting there, coding and what not when someone walks behind me, which I mean isn't really all that suspicious. I'm in a park so people just go wherever the hell they want. This person though, stopped walking once they were behind me.
Yea, just to let you know, what I was doing at that point was not coding my computer anymore. I was messing around with a certain skull shaped virus that you may or may not have heard of, but the point is it's a very bad virus. Not many people know what it is when they see it so I wasn't all that worried. However that was my mistake because the person that was just walking through the park, happened to know exactly what it was, and the next moment I was in handcuffs. So here we are. In the present. And they have my laptop.
Not that that's really a problem. I mean the thing is brand new and that virus was the only actually illegal thing I had a chance to do on it yet. Plus I had finished firewalling my laptop and booby trapping it before I started on that virus so as soon as they try to enter the password into the first screen, everything fryes. It's actually pretty interesting what I did. The page that shows up when you open the laptop is a fake, and if you try to enter any password into it, everything fries. You have to click on the background of the laptop, specifically on the blue butterfly and that opens the actual page where you're supposed to put the password.
Click
I get pulled out of my thoughts as someone walks into the interrogation room. Well this should be fun.
