It wasn't a district with a good reputation among the residents of Mito. Rapes, murders and alcohol libations have happened here and young drug addicts injected cocktails straight into their veins.

In the light of flashing lanterns, however, someone was walking. When the light fell on their face, you could tell immediately that he was a young man. He had shoulder-length black hair, red eyes, a chubby face and a rather slender build. He was dressed in a black coat with scarlet lining. He looked like a purebred vampire.

The shorter man, definitely younger than him, was watching him from behind the lamp. He was really short even for a Japanese person. His eyes were yellow behind red-rimmed glasses and his hair was brown and spiky. His body was completely different from that of his companion in that dark night - he was chubby not only on his face and his fingers looked like little sausages, though they were quite long.

One jump and the younger man hung over the older man. The taller man only smirked as he laid on the cold pavement and looked at the aspen stake in his attacker's hand.

“And what? Are you going to kill me now?” asked the man in the coat. “I lived twenty nine years and I’ve existed for a long time, so don’t worry.”

“I don’t have a choice” replied his attacker.

At this moment, someone appeared above them. The youngster in a coat threw his opponent off himself and put a stake through the heart of an older man.

“Tell me, Akiya, why do you want to let this tasty snack escape?” asked the man, smiling maliciously.

“Because he’s innocent” replied Akiya. “And I don’t care if he’s a conqueror.”

“He wanted to kill you and you still protected him” the man shook his head.

“Vampires with red aura really have other priorities than us” said Akiya. “Let me show you our priorities then.”

Then Akiya pushed a stake, which resulted in his opponent’s death. He just crumbled to ashes immediately.

The vampire got up and brushed the dust off his clothes.

"You're stupid" he said to the conqueror, who was still there. "You can't hear the steps of the vampires with the a aura. You can hear ours. You should know about it."

"Aura?" the conqueror blinked.

"Yes, an aura. Vampires see auras. Those with conscience have blue auras, those without it have red auras. You, conquerors, have green and innocent people have white. Murderers and rapists have black" explained Akiya. "As you can probably guess, I'm a blue one. It would be nice, if you'd tell it to your leaders, kid."

"Ueta Kousuke" said the conqueror suddenly. "My name is Ueta Kousuke."

"Kawakami Akiya. Nice to meet you" Akiya smiled slightly. "Just explain, why you introduced yourself to me."

"I don't like being called a kid" Kousuke snorted.

"And how old are you? Twenty?" Akiya laughed shortly. "When you're several hundred years old like me, then we can talk on an equal level. Now get out before some red aura moron comes again."

Kousuke nodded and ran away. Akiya turned around and came back to his night escapade. Those conquerors were very funny sometimes.

Just some story about overdramatic vampires, often tiptoeing on the border between comedy and parody.
