Norinia Production Diaries

Oct 19, 2018

I don’t remember the exact details, but somewhere at the beginning of the Second Quarter of the school year, I had the thought of getting a partner. I’ve always wanted one. I’ve asked some of my friends who seemed like possible companions, and they all said no. Well, not really. A conversation involving Norinia usually went like this:

Miracle: “Hey, how good are your digital drawing skills?”

My friend: “Decent, why do you ask?”—or—“Crap can draw better than me. Why?”

Miracle: “I need help with my webcomic—“

My friend: “Are you sure you have the right person?”

So yeah, there’s that. Like I said earlier, I don’t Rene how it happens, but I remember receiving a notebook for my classmate. He was stupid, to say the least. Not by academics (though he does sturggle with them), but by resource management.

We had a notebook for every subject. For our ‘Native Language’ subject, he had two . One of them only had one occupied page, but he got a new one anyway and wanted to throw the first one away. I was not happy. I murmured to myself, “You don’t know how to value what little we have left in our world.” Or something along that line. He changed his mind. He got his second notebook, which only had eighth a page occupied, ripped the used page out, and handed the rest of the notebook to me. I was grateful and happy. The paper was so smooth, and the cover was pretty neat too. Besides the name and subject label on it, it was relatively plain. I liked it.

I had it in my bag for a few days. Then I decided to put it to good use. I don’t know how, but I remember walking up to the best artist amongst us friends and asked for her white-out. She saw what I was doing and I asked her again.

Miracle: “This was the webcomic I was talking about.”

Friend: “Well it doesn’t seem to know bad. Lemme join.”

It was much more decent than that, but what's important is that we’re both working on the comic now. She’s helping me with character designs, considering we were in a class of thirty and we were planning of having a class episode.

So yeah.

Norinia is a comic I’m currently working on. Because I’m a potato with a stuffed schedule (Thanks, High School) and limited access to digital drawing material, I’m going to tell you guys about the productions. Join me, Miracle Wilson, and my dear friend here...uh—I’ll tell you her name later, and listen as we tell you about the productions of Norinia.
