I brushed the twigs off the egg, it seemed to glisten and pulse with a blue light as I uncovered it from the dirt. It seemed to come alive under my finger tips. I gently picked it up holding it to my chest making sure it felt secure before i began walking. I was careful of what i stood on making sure i didn't slip, this egg seemed important from the way it pulsed and glistened. It seemed ancient. 

I placed the egg in the footwell of the car since the seatbelt didn't fit it well. I made sure it was safe before driving off and heading for my apartment. I quickly dashed inside ignoring Ms. Butterworts screams at the fact i was tracking dirt everywhere and i was an imbecile. I pushed the elevator button and waited patiently for it to reach me. I still clutched the egg to my chest as i entered making sure to hold onto the railing too, I hated elevators they hurt my insides. 

I pushed open my apartment door after i unlocked it, Pepper jumped up at me but stopped when she saw what i was holding. I walked past her and placed the egg on the table making sure it didn't roll off. 

"What do you think it is, pepper?" i asked her aloud, i had no clue what it was other than the fact it was weird and an egg. It was also alone and freezing when i had found it, showing signs of being abandoned.
