October Morning is a comic inspired by Soviet era posters. The comic is written by Bettina Westerholm and drawn by Arwen Meereboer. Both writers are living and working in Finland. The idea came from looking at the queer appeal of Soviet era posters. For our comic we came up with an all-female space program in Soviet Russia, some details are based on historical events, but most of it is made up.
Mila as a child becomes enamored with space, and can think of nothing better than t go there to explore. She struggles in school due to issues with concentration, however she turns out to be a gifted pilot and ends up in the Soviet space program. She and her rag tag team of cosmonauts will go on a dangerous mission to discover the planet Venus.
