Paranoia Demon- Chapter 1
My closest friend held me tight from behind my back, the thought of it kept me awake all night. He saw people as nothing but animals, yet somehow he kept me by his side. What was I to him? It seems my thoughts were too loud, he could feel it in my shakiness and shifting in bed.
He sat up, placing his hands beside my head looking down upon me. He thought for a moment before opening his lips, “you accepted me despite what I told you. I trust you deeply.” I then whispered “Why do you lay with a friend and not a lover? Does someone like you even want that?” He smiled and said, “if I stabbed you and smelt the blood would you take that as an interest in your body?”
I was truly scared and shocked by what he said. It wasn't the worst i heard, but he never even suggested violence to me before. I could barely speak but I began to say, “what do you mean by that?”

He then leaned down to kiss me. He spoke for the final time that night saying “I want to see how you react to everything I do to you. Even that, being cut. but I could never do something like that to you. Somehow you became something so precious to me that I want to possess your body. My curiosity has broken a lot of things, but this time it's so much more satisfying to stay on the edge of going too far."

I can't live with this anymore. If I could afford to find another place, he will still track me. I wonder what we would be everynight if I never knew the horrible secrets you keep in your heart. I never knew a mortal man could have such power in his words as if I were listening to Satan himself. Another night passes by that I live with a murderer and have yet another investigation tomorrow. When I met you at that orphanage in our childhood you were a lot less honest, I miss that.



-Years Into The Present-  Demon’s pov
I have watched you all these years, stalking you with my gun lovingly by my side. I brush it against my face before turning to your back. I watch as you go by, and without a word I sit there staring for a while. It didn’t take long for you to notice my echoing slight steps but I'm glad you did, I smiled. You ran so far as if that could ever save you, but you’ll never know that killing you was never my plan.
So to make you understand, I stood by your window for a while.

My silent presence gave you nightmares, I heard your whispers. Smiling once more, I lean close to your breathing and sleeping self.
All you did was stare back with your eyes wide open as if I didn't know.

It’s ok, I know you do not sleep in your fear for your life. I part with you and leave this one gift. I lick your forehead and vanish as if I was all a part of your dream.

In the dawn that comes, I walk up your stairs to take what is mine, you will never leave me. But it is too late, you already left to the train station. It's snowing and the next night, you keep staring into your glassy window and keep seeing me standing there at different moments. You turn away to sip your tea only to see me stealing it and sitting across you. I gulp it until the very last drop and say the first words I have said to you in 13 years. “Your soul is still mine but I won't kill you if you guess what I really want.”
