This isn't part of the story but an explanation of what phase 5 is exactly. You may know about demography and that it keeps evolving. Humanity isn't in one phase but every country is in another.

Some countries are on the end of phase 4 and slowly transitioning to phase 5 which is the only phase without name. This is the phase where birth numbers are lower than the number of deaths. You can just google <name of country> demographic phase and you'll find a good number of graphs showing what I mean. 

The fact that there are more births than deaths means the population is decreasing. In Phase 5 this will be the case world-wide for about 100 years, diminishing the population to around 120 million world wide. In those 100 years they tried many things to get the population up again like propaganda and taking away the "shame" of a child without marriage, making marriage and religion unneeded in the end. Also, if you had a child, you only have to take care of it for 2 years until you can drop it off to a little education camp where kids in groups of 3 to 5 get a parent AI to take care of them.

This novel is still in the works but I just couldn't wait to get my ideas out in the open! Also, keep in mind that this is a work of fiction that takes place in the future and isn't related to our world in most ways. There aren't even countries anymore! But since all of you are now caught up on demography, you can expect the first chapter around a month from now. I know, I know, a very long time but please be patient with me!
