Set in a more futuristic version of our society where the industrial development is so rapid that high rise buildings quickly took over the sky. Soon, the buildings are so high up and dense that the Sun can no longer be seen. To cope with this situation, artificial suns are invented and hung between buildings like giant lanterns to light up the city instead since the sunlight can no longer reach the surface of the Earth.
Sunrise is as rare as the meteor shower these days. However, like the meteor shower no matter how magical it sounds, no one really cares about it anymore. The advance technology also make time travel possible as well.
This story follows G, who travels to the future to see the sunrise one last time as he won’t live long enough to see the next sunrise because of a life threatening disease that left him bedridden. This story explores the theme of time and would the past or future matter to oneself.
