Part 1 - The Journey
The party was following a dirt path, leaving the village behind. The sun had just rise, which was making the few clouds on the sky look like gold, and insects were buzzing all around them. Jean, Teófilo, Lara and John, with ages their between 15 and 17, and the little 10 years old Igor, had left even before their parents woke up.
Jean was leading ahead. She was the oldest, but that wasn’t the reason she was the leader. Since ever she was the one with the ideas. Always with john’s excessive loyalty, this leaded to Teófilo following them with Lara’s diverse protests and avowals. Jean’s very tanned skin made her contrast with both the green meadow and the gang. Not that the others were pale as snowflakes. Maybe Igor. And John wasn’t that far either. Jean was very authoritative, with her half-closed hazelnut eyes and her long curly hair, while leading the way.
In the end of the group was John with his freckled face and wild hair, scaring every bug he stopped to look at, curving himself over the countless daisies covering the meadow. His wanderings lead him to run back to his friends every 5 minutes, with Teófilo yelling at him, warning him every time he was getting behind.
Behind John, far away from the village, far away itself from the group now, with its crumbling old stone houses, were the impotent and majestic frosty mountains, rising against the sky and against the clouds around them.
Walking some steps after Jean, there were Teófilo and Lara, both only a few months younger than Jean, with their black skin and light blond hair and little Igor walking along side them, with black hair, very pale skin and bright blue eyes. He was starting to get tired because they had been walking for hours and although in the beginning Teófilo and Lara had to keep catching him and avoiding him to wander around, now they almost needed to carry him.
He was still better than John that once in a while decided that he couldn’t keep walking, so he threw himself over the grass, only to get up when he sees a new and interesting bug.
The journey seemed to never come to an end. The dirt path started to fade until it completely disappeared. But the party went ahead, since their destination was so massive it was impossible to miss, even if they wanted. Which was awkward for Lara because all her wanted was to don’t arrive there. Instead of that, she wanted to turn around and come back to the village with Igor, letting Jean drag john and Teófilo to her insane shenanigans.
The journey was going for so long they were all exhausted. The mid day sun was starting to heat too much. John stopped looking for bugs to follow in every flower and Joan caught her hair on a ponytail. Lara and her switched between them who carried Igor, because Teófilo was carrying a bag with everything they needed and John was to little to carry Igor.
