"What a decade it was, 2010s was sure a lot to witness. 2020 is around the corner, people are rejoicing for what could come but I do not think anyone would suspect of what was a reckoning to come." - Diary Entry from M-01100001-je-01100011-a
-----5-----WEEKS-----LATER-----
Setting: 'Rollpins' Safety House
Number of people: ???
Time - 4:00pm
"When is hunting again...?" The young boy whined out, "Soon, love." Replied a supposed mother. The young boy sighed crossing his arms kicking a rotting plant, "Watch it..." Said someone in a low voice, the young boy looked at him, he was tall and tough. "Sorry, sir..." He apologised. "Now...we must prepare for the hunting in about 2 minutes, or even now!" He seemed serious as his eyebrows furrowed at them. "Let me get some stuff, Bundy." Bundy? She must be referring to him. The woman tied her hair in a knot and quickly went into another area of the house. The young boy walked around, every few steps you can hear a small creak in floorboards and insects rattling through them.
Eventually she came back down slowly, looking at the young boy softly, asking him, "Would you like any gear?" She said quietly and calmly, "Well I--" He was interrupted quickly by 'Bundy', "No need, the crowd of them don't seem to be to hefty today, I'd give it a B3, besides Lukas you're always safe." The now named Lukas looked down and nodded at him, his eyes didn't seem like he was agreeing though.
4:??pm
Time Passed by fast, the hunt was on and ready to begin, they just needed to be really sure, "Ready Lukas?" Lukas slightly nodded with a shivering, "Yes." Bundy then turned, "Ready Cindy?" Proclaimed Cindy now, nodded back at him. "Alrighty tighty..." He kicked the door open with a strong shoe on his right foot, their sights gathered on the zombies but the zombies did not look back at them. The zombies were mostly consisting of green scraped clothing with an exposed brain with a pumping blue, looping tube inside of it. They were ever so curious about it but never took an attempt to examine it, now was not the time. Bundy was the one to head out with a few small and heavy steps but still the zombies did not notice him or the others. Cindy and Lukas followed the footsteps of Bundy, standing behind him to shield, "Definitely in the B category...we're safe with speech..." Bundy sounded confident in what he said. Closer and closer they came to the zombies before within hand-reach of some. "Remember, they can attack us if they see us in front of them, they may be deaf but they ain't blind." Bundy exclaimed, They all nodded at each other. Each of them including Lukas got behind a zombie and attempted an attack. Bundy knocking it in the head with a wooden plank, knocking it out, Cindy nailed the zombie down and threw a few punches at its body. Onto Lukas, he surprisingly choked down the zombie but to discovery it did not seem to be in any harm, the zombie tried to scrap at Lukas but quickly Bundy hit it over the face with the same wooden plank, "Lucky it didn't do too much..." Bundy stayed calm but had a serious and furrow voice. Cindy jogged over to Lukas worryingly, "L-Lukas! Lukas!" She shouted his name over and over, "Are you okay boy?!" She said loudly as she could, her eyes seemed to shiver a bit in sadness, "Yes, I th-think so..." Lukas stood up and gave a soft hug to Cindy.
After caring and tending to Lukas, Bundy suggested, "Wait...if Lukas couldn't choke that zombie out...do they not have a pulse...?" Lukas turned to Bundy, "That makes sense..." He turned right back around to Cindy, "Check for the pulse." Cindy nodded at Lukas before scuffing over on her knees to check it...nothing, nothing was there, "Doesn't seem so, I cannot feel anything in the neck or arm..." She slowly got back up on her two feet, "Is this just for the B category...? This is a discovery to remember." Bundy wondered and looked at Lukas with a grin, "Good job bud." Lukas lit up with a small smile, he seemed happy for once with such a discovery he made but of course there is no clarity.
They carried on to their adventure for scrapes of food and drink, they always went to a 'special store' that was funded by another group of survivors, they were always allowed in it but they knew nothing about it other then it has food and drink they can supply themselves with. "My legs are getting tired...can you carry me?" He looked up at Cindy with puppy-like eyes. Cindy rolled her eyes, giggling, "Alright then, hop on." She squatted down for Lukas to hop onto and Lukas did so. Bundy minded his own business, "We're close to the store now...I can vaguely see it." Bundy walked on and walked on, so did Cindy with Lukas on her shoulders. "We're now...here?" The group walked up to the front of it but it didn't seem usual, the state of it was very different to what it was, "I'm sure it's nothing." Bundy poked his head in the entrance door, looking around, it seemed normal on the inside so they decided to go in and get some food and drinks. It all seemed normal after a while of picking stuff out and trading back with stuff of their own but a long groan could be heard throughout. "What's that?!" He hopped off Cindy's shoulders and landed on his feet, Bundy didn't seem phased by it, "Just some weird stuff...I've got everything anyway we can make our head out." Bundy didn't seem to care at all. Cindy issued, "Well it must be something...haven't heard it ever whilst in this place." She blinked and rubbed her eyes to get something off it, "It's better to leave it, just go back to our house." Bundy exclaimed and he took his way out whilst the others obliged. They heard another groan but it was short and high unlike the first one but they insisted on walking and walking back to the house like nothing happened.
5:??pm
They arrived back at the home, Cindy shutting the door behind them as the boys placed down the stuff and unpacked it, "Good for now, we did well." Bundy said whilst getting out loaves of bread and fitting them onto a desk. "Especially with the discovery Lukas made, congratulations." Bundy did a slight clap before stopping and continuing with what he was doing. Lukas sighed in tiredness, "I'll go to rest upstairs for now, I'll be back down soon." Lukas walked over to the staircase and ran up it steadily. Cindy sat down at a table with a wooden chair, waiting for Bundy to sit as well. Bundy finished unpacking and setting so he looked over at Cindy and sat down in front of her. Cindy pulled out a deck of playing cards and set them down on the table, "Go fish?" Bundy responded with a simple grin and nod, "I'll deal."
5:49pm
"Another win." Cindy sarcastically laughed at Bundy, all Bundy did was smile and say, "Enough for now, that was fun." He shoved his cards back into the deck for Cindy to put away. Cindy put the cards away, shuffling them before eventually saying, "Ever heard the quote 5 weeks earlier...?" Bundy was caught off-guard and he tilted his head slightly, "What quote?" Cindy pouted, "You don't know the infamous one, that was said on the day of the reckoning?" Bundy scratched his head and rubbed his thick beard, "Not at all, tell me it if you will." Cindy breathed in and out, "What a decade it was, 2010s was sure a lot to witness. 2020 is around the corner, people are rejoicing for what could come but I do not think anyone would suspect of what was a reckoning to come..." She stopped for a while, "That was it word by word." Bundy was taken back, "Who and how...Who said it and how did you find out about it?" Cindy shut her eyes, "Some girl...and I found out by the few voice messages sent out..." Cindy re-opened them, blinking continuously, "I never heard that in the messages, weird...well it's just a thing, we're even lucky to have a few messages come in once in a while...the only one that mattered to me is the population of zombies in a certain area...really helpful." Cindy nodded. They sat there and didn't talk but then a noise came down from the stairs, it was a creek...but fortunately it was just Lukas, stretching his arms, "Ahh...any entertainment now...?" Cindy looked up at Lukas, "We will be gathering at the couch for a story session or we'll try and boot up that local Television again." Lukas nodded and came down to sit on the couch and wait. "I'll just get a crunch of food, nothing much." Bundy scooted over to a 'snack bar' and grabbed something, pushing in the chair after walking to the couch.
6:57pm
The blinds on the window shutter open, waving in drips of wind, "Getting dark, I think it's time to lay down and sleep for the night." Bundy said to both of them before wiping his pants and getting up, "Don't worry about the zombies breaking in, I have it under control." They all stomped upstairs to their tiny rooms where they rest. Bundy, Cindy and Lukas all went into their room before a final message from Bundy for the day, "Energy, check, Bravery, check and relevant, check, keep that in mind for tomorrow and the future we live in, night everyone." Laying down on the cushion on his bed, yawning till he drifts off into sleep...
