STUCK WITH YOU BL

The Stranger

The Stranger

May 02, 2026

The first rays of sunlight washed over the P. James mansion, turning the floor-to-ceiling windows into sheets of liquid gold. Inside, the house was a temple of silence and order.

Upstairs, the rhythmic, insistent beep of a phone alarm finally cut through the morning stillness.

P. James lay on his stomach, one arm dangling over the edge of the plush mattress. With a groggy, practiced motion, his fingers found the device and silenced it. He didn't bolt upright. Instead, he sat quietly on the edge of the bed for a long moment, gathering himself before the day demanded his attention.

Downstairs, the house remained silent.

James crossed the kitchen in bare feet and poured himself a glass of cold water. He dropped a vitamin tablet into it and watched as tiny bubbles danced to the surface. Once the fizzing settled, he drank the glass in one smooth motion before placing it carefully in the sink.

The living room was already prepared for the day. A business file rested neatly on the sofa where he'd left it the previous evening.

As he flipped through the pages, his phone rang.

"Good morning," James answered.

"Good morning, sir," his secretary replied. "I've prepared today's schedule."

"Perfect."

James glanced at the clock.

"Be here in ten minutes."

The call ended.

Ten minutes later, steam drifted from the bathroom as James finished his shower. After drying off, he stepped into his walk-in closet and selected a charcoal-grey suit, a silver watch, and a simple bracelet. He adjusted his tie, checked his reflection one last time, and headed downstairs.

His garage looked more like a luxury showroom than a private collection, but he reached for the keys to the car he preferred that morning.

As he approached the front gate, his secretary's vehicle pulled into the driveway.

"Morning, sir."

"Morning."

James gave a small nod toward the road ahead.

"Lead the way."

Within minutes, they merged into Seoul's bustling morning traffic. Cafés welcomed their first customers, office workers hurried toward subway stations, and the city pulsed with the familiar rhythm of another busy day.

Towering above the surrounding buildings stood the P. Group Grand Hotel—a symbol of elegance, prestige, and quiet power.

James stepped from his car.

His secretary handed him his work phone without a word.

James accepted it and walked confidently toward the revolving entrance doors.

Then everything changed.

A young man burst out of the hotel.

His shirt hung loosely around his collar, his hair was disheveled, and tears shimmered in eyes that looked as though they hadn't stopped crying.

He collided hard with James.

For a brief moment, time seemed to stand still.

"...Sorry."

The apology was barely more than a whisper.

The young man never looked up.

He simply continued walking until he disappeared into the growing morning crowd.

James remained where he stood.

His eyes followed the stranger until he was completely out of sight.

Something about him didn't feel right.

Minutes later, inside his office, James stood quietly beside the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the city.

Without taking his eyes off the skyline, he spoke.

"Pull up the entrance CCTV."

His secretary blinked in surprise.

"Sir?"

"The young man who just left."

James finally turned.

"Something wasn't right."

The security footage appeared on the monitor.

The video paused.

A close-up of the young man's face filled the screen.

James stared at it for several silent seconds.

"Find out who he is," he said quietly.

"Who was he with?"

"And what happened before he walked out of my hotel?"

The secretary nodded and hurried from the office.

Alone once again, James continued staring at the frozen image on the screen, unaware that the stranger he'd met for only a few seconds was about to change his life forever.
