Scout and Scoot are part of a robot colony called The Hive, their main prerogative is to eradicate all remains of human life as part of their code, which allows them to determine crimes and the justice that would serve to protect life and the planet as a whole, which according to them, doesn't include humans.
Both of them are infected with a virus though, which allows them to simulate emotions and experience more human traits.
Their mission is to find the kill code and bring it back to The Hive to prevent further spread of the virus.
