Description
Seraphina has always felt detached from her day-to-day life.
Disjointed, inert. Like a jigsaw missing its most integral piece. The world around her was but a dreamscape with no tangible beginning or end to its never-ending lie - a faceless tableau of moving parts without a set destination in sight. And it felt like she had been sleepwalking for years now, listlessly going through the motions content with her peaceful misery because it was always easier to detach oneself, to elude the penance of responsibility and the inevitable pain it wrought, and simply accept things as they were instead of pointlessly scrabbling for that barest modicum of hope, no better than a starved beast. Best to set ink aside and leave this story unfinished.
But would she truly be satisfied with such a banal ending?
When her estranged mother abruptly passes away, Seraphina is given the exclusive opportunity to wander the halls of her childhood home for the first time in a while and rediscovers therein a token of fortuity in the form of a strange golden tome. This leads her down quite the rabbit hole as she harks its latent secrets, allowing her to disassemble that long-assumed veil of hypocrisy that shrouds their sky, and in doing so, she might be able to expose her true purpose.
