Chapter I
Safire
Safire awake to the light sound of rain on taping the window. She arose to a sit position. Staring at the outside from the black thin bars of her cage. She loved the way her cag faced the see-through door and it was easy to see the outside. She loved how the rain sounded and how the wind makes it look as if the drops where dancing in the sky as they fell. She had never in the rain, since she was an inside dog. She slowly lay back down, the song of the dogs soon filled her ears. For she was not the only dog. First was Winston, he is an old tri-color collie with a kind yet scaredy-cat personality. Then moon, she is a great Pyrenees collie mix yet she looks like a border collie with a fire cracker personality. Samantha a black and white Corgi she always wants to move and hates to sit still. Last but not lest Safire a sable collie.
After some time, Safire awoke realizing she fella sleep. The long-leggeds where on the move packing things in small boxes. She knows they were leaving, not for how long but they are leaving. Not caring she tried to sleep more, but they opened the small cage and put on a leash. She was going to. Slowly they walked her to the moving cage where they put her in the far back with Winston. With him really she thought “hello” Safire said trying not to be rude. “why hello pup” Winston said happily Safire hated being called a pup all the time.
“so are you ready to go” Winston said
“go? Go where?”
“the forest Of Corse”
“The forest?”
Winston gave her a look like really you don’t know? This make Safire mad but sad at the same time.
“wait a second, O I forgot” Winston whispered
“What?”
“You have never been! it’s a wonderful place and its outside. I know you’ll like it!”
“O ok?”
When we arrived, it was starting to get dark and cold. Safire shuddered at the chilly air griping her pelt. Night fell Quick as you could bark it was colder yet we slept outside. Gust as it seemed to be the worst Safire felt rain for the first time. It was cold and felt hard with every drop.
“Winston this is tarridle!”
“quit pu-“ as Safire cut him of
“its clod And And I think my fur is falling off!”
“Its not th-”
“worst yet we have to stay here in a cage!”
“Safire, you live in a cage at home”
“but if it rains I don’t feel it!”
“It’s not that bad”
“I want to go home!’
“Safire Stop it! Nothing is to like of a complaining pu- “
“STOP!”
“don’t you shout at me!”
Winston arose, never had he ever looked bigger. A little grow in his voice he was mad real mad.
“Stop what!?” he yelled
Safire tried to make herself look big to. Failing but trying.
“calling me pup”
“why?”
“I’m leaving!”
Winston started laughing “where would a pup like you go? Home? Sorry kid homes a far was away” Safire ignored him and walked over to the fence eyeing it. She walked back a few dog lengths. She made sure to get a running start and jumped over the fence. She turned to Winston “lets seen who was the pup this whole time”
“you fluff brain pup! When you die it’s all your fault”
Safire walked closer ''i'm better then youll ever be"
Safire bounded off not looking back
