My forehead was dripping sweat, my hands trembling, and my legs were heavy - I couldn't even move a single hair on my body.
During my moment of hesitation, a noise emerged from the forest's depths.
“They are closing in on my location,” I thought to myself.
I had two options either jump or fight. Despite the growing sound of footsteps, the increasing rustle of leaves, and the overwhelming feeling gnawing at me from within, I couldn't bring myself to jump.
