Shigure's are people with powers which is the effect of their evolution,but one group has deemed them unholy....The Court.The court is hiding the Shigure's so that the public never find out about the ever multiplying Shigures,and the thing is their numbers aren't diminishing at all.Shigure don't die because their souls are tied to the earth forcing them to never be able to leave,their bodies don't decompose properly either.If a Shigure can get back to their body then they can inhabit it once again instead of being a spirit,this is why that when the Shigure die while in The Courts possession ,they burn bodies.
The main character and his lover who were the first Shigure to be discovered to have powers,in fact the Shigure are named after them.Shi our main character is now a spirit killed by The Court,he's been fighting against themand is now more powerful then the collars that The Court use to subdue Shigures.He goes from group to group of caught Shigure across North America freeing them as he went only wanting to get back to Guredy who believes him to be dead.
Guredyian or Guredy as Shi refers to him does not know that their souls are tied so tightly to the Earth has buried his body and continues to run the restaurant that the two had made together in Japan.Shi has more physical powers while Guredyian is a telepath who can warp a persons vision and understanding of their surroundings as well as communicate silently,though he has not gotten strong enough to completely change who a person is.
But this is a tale of how they go around the world to defeat The Court and as they make friends along the way with other Shigures,to save them and all the others out their.That is their only goal and they will go to the end of the Earth to complete it no matter who tries to stop them.....Specifically the leaders of The Court who have somehow managed to stay out of the spotlight.
