Upon a certain day, four heroes of most differing natures were summoned to the chamber of Sir Godric, there to receive a charge as sworn adventurers of the realm — and from that hour was forged a fellowship betwixt these remarkable souls.
They came to be known as the Slay Bastards, for each of them — aye, even the tiefling — bore the fair countenance of a courtly model, yet the art of slaying was as a second name unto them.
