Sayre has been stalking the same city streets for hundreds of years. He's outlived countries, empires, and languages. Though he wants to keep himself out of the inane politics of vampire dens and other supernatural's treaties, they never take his refusals for long. It's been the same for hundreds of years, and the boredom is wreaking more havoc on him than the intense headaches he gets. That is until one night in the 1880s, he ends a hunt in the shop of a witch. Instead of a battle, they strike a deal: he can have all the blood he wants, if she can have the bodies.

What starts as a macabre bargain grows into something that transcends decades, politics, and laws.

 A vampire and a witch: partners in crime, sworn enemies, and forbidden lovers.
