Snipets Part 2
Chapter One
All seemed well on the outskirts of the White forest where the river Tojii divided the rugged terrain in two. The day was a beautiful summer’s day. The sun shone as bright as could be. The birds sang, the insects buzzed and the breeze blew gently. The grass was long and green, the treetops tall. The flowers smiled to the heavens and the sunshine fell copiously amidst the leaves.
Far from the White City, far from the fields and deep into the White forest the pitter patter of little feet tapped merrily across the Irth. Youthful and light of touch with a tread that was full of beans, that is to say, that they were full of life and not that they were quite literally full of beans, fell one after the other.
To the more articulate of ears there were but four pairs of feet, in actual fact there were five. One pair belonged to Botog, one to Amanie. Two pairs belonged to Meo and the other to Tidimew, four of the five characters of whom this story shall primarily concern. The fifth of whom we will meet shortly, sleeping somewhere amongst the undergrowth I expect.
Amanie, Meo, Botog and Tidimew were children of the White forest. The forest was their home. Jupinda creator of Irth and life and she of the flaming spores, had not seen fit to provide them with parents, so amongst her many grand schemes had put them there, where they lived in the home of the elderly Ji Coble, who had found Amanie whilst out hunting in the wilderness one day and had cared for her and all the little friends she gathered up until about a few years back, when he’d passed away at the hands of a monstrous spider beast that he’d tried to fend off of a couple of his fellow villagers.
Growing up in the White forest, if such a thing were possible, for I have to say, Amanie had her doubts about Meo, life was a regular bundle of fun. They were the best of friends and spent nearly all their time together, playing childish games and pranks, teasing one another, sleeping in the same room, hanging out and making sure they had one another’s back.
At that moment they were on their way to meet Telimo. Telimo was the fifth member of their gang with whom they seldom spent a moment apart, except for when they were sleeping that is. Since Telimo said that Meo and Botog snored too much and it kept him up at night. Although Amanie suspected it was because they woke up early in the morning that he slept elsewhere.
Amanie was by nature their leader, the eldest and a good nine years of age, trumping Telimo in age by three months and twenty two days. Her hair was a radiant, natural cascade of blonde, soft as an angel’s and bright as the sun. Her skin was smooth and pure as a lily. Her cheeks glowed pink like the petals of a rose. Her eyes were ocean blue, her lips full, her limbs long and slender, her cap white with pinkish/purple markings. Oh and she was as pretty as could be.
Botog was the third eldest and one year older than Meo. He was eight years of age, short with round red feet, thin shapeless yellow legs, a broad grin and a head like a button or a half buried potato at any rate. His body resembled an inflatable rubber tyre with dark, beady eyes and rosy cheeks. He had two small mushrooms on top of his head and several bold, red circles around his yellow, tyre like body, plus three smaller ones on his forehead.
Meo, the fourth eldest, was seven years of age, cheeky, mischievous and a live wire with four paws and sixteen claws. That’s sixteen claws in total and not at the end of each. That would be a bit much after all, even for Meo. She had a big, bushy tail with beautiful triangular pink markings running all the way along, three small mushrooms with triangular markings over her brow, a triangle in the middle of her forehead and a triangular shaped pink nose. Her eyes were large, pretty and sparkled like diamonds. Her teeth were sharp and pointy, her ears erect and alert. The fur around her face was jagged in appearance. Oh and she was a cat, all be it a talking white one.
Tidimew, the youngest, was a little over one and a half years of age. She was cute, cuddly and utterly adorable. The others hadn’t quite made up their minds whether or not she was a girl yet, but felt she was much too cute to be a boy and so had decided to treat her as one, a girl that is, or at least until she proved them otherwise. Her eyes were as large as swimming pools and sparkled like the stars. Her ears were as big as a mogwai’s with three golden earrings in each. She had three white mushrooms above her brow and a sort of triangular shaped mark in the middle of her forehead, pink cheeks, soft white fur and an infectious smile. Her arms and legs were short with yellow zig zags around her wrists, thighs, ankles and upper arms. Oh and she had a triangular shaped yellow mark slap bang in the middle of her chest.
Telimo, who the gang were on their way to meet, was nine years of age, the second eldest, had a fuzzy pink coat, wings like a goose, two sharp white teeth sticking out under his top lip, long slanting yellow eyes and a face like a Tyrannosaurus Rex. All be it a rather cute one. His chest and abdomen where fuzz free or bald to put it another way, as where his hands and feet. He had two small mushrooms above his brow, each covered in fluorescent Pink spots, as were his hands, feet, head, chest and abdomen. Oh and his favourite pastime was sleeping.
