A Reason 

I wonder when it all started… 

My desire to be king. To become the next monarch. Sure, many dream of taking up that role. Taking the throne. After all, it is filled with many benefits.  

A luxurious life of wealth, fame, power and women. 

It truly is the dream life for any mortal. 

But I had never desired such things. Even back in Aroa. I did not desire the throne. It was forced upon me against my wishes. 

Of course, I fulfilled my duties to the highest degree, albeit reluctantly. And I believe that I served my kingdom well… well, for the short amount of time that I was king. 

But all I had wished for from the beginning was to live a long, peaceful life.  

Enough money to live comfortably. Enough power to support and protect a family.  

And though those desires were tarnished back in Aroa… I had hoped that this time. With this new chance. A new life in the Britannic Empire… that maybe it was the heavens way of finally giving me what I had desired from the very beginning, after all the unnecessary strife that I had been through. 

And yet now… I find myself in a similar situation to back then.  

A reason to ascend the throne once again plopped itself right in-front of my face.  

A reason to put behind the slow, peaceful life that I deserved before I could even begin to work towards it. 

A reason to pick up the blade one more time despite the change in scenery.  

It was as if fate had other plans for me. It was as if in both lives, I was destined to be a ruler. 

After all, once again. Despite being in a different world… history had to repeat itself. 

I had to ascend the throne, I had to become the strongest, I had to gain the upmost power and respect. 

Only then… Would I get my answers… 

And once again, enact my revenge against those who ruined my life. 

A different world. Similar story.
