Nekrós POV
I kept my eyes fixed on the horizon. Observing each individual blade of grass that I could pick out; trying to distract myself from the feel of the skateboard ramps cool concrete.
Nex was next to me, laying back onto the concrete. The way she was laying made her pink hair spread in different directions. It resembled the branches of a tree— granted it was a fallen tree and unnaturally pink.
We had been sitting there, waiting, for quite a while. I would’ve had an estimate if I had a clock, or my sense of time was better. In reality it was probably around 5 minutes of waiting, but to me it seemed like hours.
Our other friends (Caym and Damion) were supposed to be getting here soon. —Although knowing Caym, he probably just left his house.
I didn’t really let it show, but I was slightly excited; which is a big deal since I’m the biggest downer ever. But can you blame me! It was my last summer before I graduated! And I intended to enjoy it, before my stress and anxiety about my future pushed its way to my front brain.
