Tears of An Angel

When I’ve learned about her I thought it was just a legend, I mean seriously, a real angel that will help you when you are in need, no matter what? What are we talking about.. Santa? Well… actually her name was Anna…

In some city at a late hour…

- Ah, come on! I thought it was the right street… geez, I should’ve asked someone for directions, he said while scratching his head.

- Hello! Would you let me help you? And a wide smile brought so much warmth to her words.

- Uhmm…, he could not mutter a single word, while looking at this graceful girl that appeared before his eyes, her white hair seemed like glowing in the dark, but mostly her smile silenced him the most.

- I’m truly sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you, she said leaving a small break,

- But you seemed troubled so I thought that you might need a hand.

He began to feel ashamed while standing there not being able to say anything so he mumbled with a nervous voice:

- I may be lost… I need to reach the main intersection, to reach my new house, but I ended up here since I was too stubborn to ask for directions, he ended the sentence with a nervous laugh.

- Oh my! Is that it?... Well let me help you a bit! She said, while pulling his arm and started running ahead. He followed her, for about thirty minutes, until they’ve reached his new home.

- How did… how did we end up here? I never told you where I live! He asked both scared and nervous… What is she? A stalker? How did she knew this?

- I thought you prayed for my help a few days ago didn’t you? I’m Anna! Nice to meet you! She said while stretching her hand towards him…

- What? That was a joke! There’s no way angels exists… You don’t even-

- Have wings? She interrupted him, while displaying her pair of huge silvery wings, which left him with his mouth open.

- Never stop believing Liam, if you really need help, just ask alright? At that moment she flew off in the night’s sky leaving the young man speechless.

Next morning:

What was that? Anna? Is she for real? I mean, yeah I asked her help but it was because Jacob told me this tale about an angel that will help anyone in need… Damn and I really needed help with that homework… Can I summon her again?

Liam prayed again that evening for Anna’s help with cooking, hoping she will come, but with no luck. He then tried asking for help, in his thoughts, for various things during the day… same result.

Ok… I guess it was a one-time thing, he sighed after saying that, while walking through a park near his house during dusk. It is indeed a nice sunset today, it truly makes the moon that is barely showing to have such a nice glow… he thought for himself… her hair looked the same that night. Oh well, I should hurry home for now!

The next day I’ve met with Jacob and went to a café and started telling him about Anna:

- Dude, I swear she is for real! White hair, silver wings, everything!

- Haha! Yeah dude, it’s a good joke, we should tell others with the same passion to mess with them, Jacob said while laughing.

- I’m not joking, come on… I’ve really met her! Her name is Anna!

- Anna!... hmm I like her name, he said with a smile in the corner of his mouth…

- So, you believe me?!

- I… believe you believe she exists, haha!

- Ughhh, fuck you! Liam shouted full of frustration,

- Ok, ok look… why don’t you ask for her help again?...

- You think I haven’t tried so many times? She won’t come again…

A couple hours later, Liam still tried to convince Jacob about Anna’s existence, but ended up just being frustrated… Fucking Jacob… she’s real! I’ve seen her! I’ve touched her!... well she touched me…he thought while looking at his hand.

A few days have passed and Liam started to think that maybe it was just a dream, since she never answered him, and she will never come again.

I’ve started reading about angels and yet, in no book it’s mentioned about helping people in need… I mean not literally coming to help them… What are you, Anna? Doubts started to cling to his heart. Maybe he was just dreaming since he can’t really remember how that evening continued…

- Hey Liam! Could you please go get some medicine for your mom? His dad asked while chopping some vegetables for dinner.

- Yes dad! I’m going now…

Ah the moon looks so bright this night again… he was thinking on his way back home, when he heard some growls from an alley up ahead. What? He stopped walking and watched as a pack of stray dogs approached from that alley. Oh shit! And I really wasn’t in the mood for a jog now… and he started running back while being chased. After a while he could no longer maintain a distance from them and got really scared. – HELP! He shouted while running. – Help me! Someone please!

- Hello! A voice greeted him from behind, making him tripping while trying to stop

shocked by her voice. He turned back and noticed Anna petting the pack of dogs while feeding them.

- It’s YOU!

- Of course its me! Who else? She said, letting a small giggle escape her mouth.

- But I’ve called you so many times! Where were you?

- Seriously Liam? Help you do homework? Cook? Or to show Jacob you’re right? I am

not something to show off, she said while approaching him leaving the dogs running back.

- I’m… I’m sorry I didn’t meant to upset you… he said bowing his head ashamed.

- Silly boy! You didn’t upset me, I just can’t come help you with trivial things, she said

with the same warm smile she had that night.

- But I have so many things to ask you, I want to know more about you! You’re amazing!

She giggled a bit, making him fluster.

- What do you want to know about me, mister?

- Uhmm… he started scratching his head. How do you like to spend your time?

She looked at him in silence for a bit and taking a step back she said:

- Well, I help people! That’s my purpose you know? There are so many people in need and I do my best to help them all, she said while blushing a bit.

- You try to help everyone? Isn’t that a bit too much?

- When you’re half-.. she stopped mid sentence. When you’re an angel that’s your duty you know? She said with a determined voice.
