"daddy!"
The little boy yelled to his father,
"can I get a toy?"
he asked with pleading eyes, the older man sighed and said
"fine but it has to be under 15 dollars"
with that, the young one went bolting into the aisles, he stood in awe of all the wonderful toys surrounding him, until his eyes landed on something, it was there for a split second but he swore he saw something in the eye of this one small bear plushie next to the action figure, as he reaches out to grab it he can't seem to reach very well and then turns to get his father until he felt something fall, the bear was suddenly on the floor as if it tried to follow him, the young boy smiled and grabbed it suddenly feeling an immense wave of happiness rush over him, and he ran towards his father, bear still in hand,
"daddy I want this one"
his father took the bear and looked for the price tag but couldn't seem to find it,
"hold on we have to ask how much it costs"
as they approached a worker to ask about the cost
"it's free"
he said
"free?"
the father exclaimed skeptically
"of course all happy day bears are free"
he said
"or else who would protect the kids?"
the man had said whilst shooting a slight smile at the boy, the father did not ask more as free things almost always sound good. They finished paying for everything and went back into the car, the man with his groceries and the boy with his bear
"I hope we'll be great friends"
said the boy hugging the bear tightly.
"Darvy? i asked you a question"
"huh?...oh sorry dad, what was it?"
he said apologetically
sighing the old man repeated
"do you want lasagna or spaghetti?"
"whichever they're almost the same anyway"
the boy couldn't seem to think about the question properly as his mind was fixated on the bear and the odd encounter in the store, why was he so happy? how did the bear move? Darvy didn't know the answer to any of these questions so he just did what a lot of kids his age do and ignored them which probably wasn't the best idea.
