Volume 1 follows Ruby's life shortly after the Adelaide Adventure comic. We catch up to her in the City of Melbourne as she attempts to pay for a ticket to the Grand Prix. We find her working odd jobs along with taking a job as a Motion Capture Acress for a college film. However, her life takes a detour when she is reunited with the mysterous Stephanie McClaire, the racing world's version of a mercenary. With no allegiance to a championship, her team of oddballs and strays travel the world, racing in whatever events will allow them to compete, and it's here does Ruby realize the path to her dreams is a lot faster than she expected.
