This is a piece of work inspired by Eastern Philosophy and Metaphysics, Chinese Folk Religion, Eastern religions in general like Hinduism, Buddhism and Sufism as well as on a deeper level esoteric philosophy in Shi'i Islam and draws much from the works of Shia scholars like the Ismaili Shia Da'i Nasir Khusraw and the later non-Shia and non-Muslim French Orientalist Henry Corbin (1903-1978)'s understanding of Shia and Manichean metaphysics. In addition to deep meanings and tone the surface level content will be fun for anime and manga-shonen fans, fans of Tower of God, Dragon Ball, Inuyasha and One Piece will love this series in all its classic Shonen-style writing. In a vast multiverse spanning celestial palaces, alien worlds, ancient Earth civilizations, and spiritual realms, Daniel Kowalski, an atheist Polish-Canadian college student, dies and is reincarnated as a blonde elf on the planet Helios. There, he is chosen by the Shinto Wind God Ebisu to become the next Gate-Keeper, wielder of the legendary Spirit Blade and guardian of the cosmos.
Guided by the reformed warlock Ungar—a former Magyar prince cursed into immortality and once a demonic tyrant—Daniel enrolls at Yardrat University, a martial academy for warriors, monsters, and gods. There he meets an ensemble of eccentric allies including Athena, a brave elf girl; Zaiyal, a cocky noble with Solarian blood; Pon-Chow, a disciplined Shaolin monk; Aquarius, daughter of the headmaster Dr. Faust; and the conspiracy-spewing Mr. Bear.
