Rook, the god of death and darkness, has just been bestowed the title of a god of love as well, and the citizens of the god realm have subsequently created temples for him everywhere, zealous worshippers following right after. This proves to be dangerous as Rook is continually sought out to assist in love problems that he has no real control over.

As he searches for a solution to this problem, other more intimate issues come to his attention. Specifically, he notices that his husband, Idris, the king of the god realm and the god of light and creation, has been losing touch with reality, tightening the leash around Rook until he won’t even let Rook out of their room. He views everyone as an enemy, even their own children.

Disturbed by this behavior, Rook has no choice but to escape and search for a cure to the illness that has befallen the realm’s king. The only problem is that the most likely cause for his illness…is Rook himself.
