Melanie looked around excitedly as the tuck and horse trailer pulled into the show grounds at Kana Vista Ranch. Pumpkins, some carved like Jack-O-Lanterns and some left uncarved, were placed everywhere. Tied up bundles of dried cornstalks, signs, fall and spooky decorations decorated the ranch. The truck pulled to a stop in a parking area.
“Okay, time to unload!” Melanie said as she jumped out of the truck.
She walked around to the horse trailer and opened the doors. Waiting somewhat patiently was a bay paint gelding. This was her horse, Raja. Raja was a National Show Horse, a breed that is a cross between a American Saddlebred and an Arabian.
“Ready Raja?” Melanie untied the horse.
Melanie led the horse out of the trailer and into the barn where a stall was waiting for them. She tied him up in the stall. Melanie then headed back to the truck and trailer to grab their brushes, tack, show clothes, and costume gear. After getting everything organized, she got out brushes. She brushed Raja, admiring the spooky designs clipped for his quartermarks.
