The group still stands outside in the field. The sun is slowly setting. Josiph has just hung up his phone and is looking at Marie. Marie has walked up to Derek and Kyle so she is a few feet away from him. She seems to be in deep thought while looking at the two. Then she smiles with her eyes shining bright with an idea. She stands straight and looks Kyle in the eyes.
“You want a treaty then you need to get your alpha to agree to it,” Marie comments with a straight face.
“Are you sure you are willing to do this,” Kyle asks to make sure she is ok with it.
“If your alpha agrees to meet then we'll talk and discuss the treaty,” Marie answers and Kyle smiles, “Now, we need to find a dragon.”
“A dragon,” Derek asks confused.
“Yeah. Grandpa knew one in town. She can help find the dragon we are looking for. I’ll have to look through grandpa’s little black book,” Marie answers with her smile disappearing. They start to head inside the house. It’s quiet inside. Everyone but them seems to have left. Marie sighs and heads straight to the study. The others follow close behind her with curiosity shining through their eyes.
“Now, since you all followed me, I might as well introduce you to the new members. This is Crystal. As you can see she is a neko. This is Kit. They are a human that was saved from an illegal trafficking with the vampires,” Marie introduces as she motions to them.
“Hello, I’m Derek and this is Kyle,” Derek greets and Kyle frowns.
“No cat vs dog shit,” Marie comments as she opens the top drawer. She pulls out the little black book. She opens it and Derek walks up to her.
“How will you know who the dragon is,” Derek asks curiously.
“Grandpa wasn’t known to make friends and wasn’t known to be friendly either. He just kept numbers of the ones he used for information. He would make notes and leave their information as well,” Marie answers with her eyes showing a hint of sadness.
“Notes? Like what,” Derek asks and Marie stops on the “S”s. Then stops and points to a name.
“Sabrina. A silver dragon. Lives in the #6 cabin by the lake. Be careful, she can polymorph. She loves to be around humans. Her horde is mostly aquatic based,” Marie answers, reading it out loud. She looks over the number that is there as well.
“She sounds nice,” Derek comments quietly.
“Yeah, but grandpa used her for information. Then he did it in one of two ways. Either buying it or another. You don’t want to know the other way,” Marie comments with a sigh.
“Doesn’t it involve the tools in the bottom drawer,” Derek asks with a frown.
“Yes,” Marie answers with a small frown and Josiph steps closer to her.
“He did what he had to,” Josiph comments with a straight face.
“Did what he had to?! Torture is never the answer,” Derek growls lowly.
“They didn’t want to answer him so he made them talk,” Josiph comments while crossing his arms.
“That doesn’t make it okay,” Derek growls while glaring at Josiph. Marie turns around and glares at both of them.
“Will you two stop it,” She growls irritated, “Either shut up or get out.”
Joseph glares at Kyle as he leaves the room. Derek looks at Kyle with a comforting smile. Kyle is looking at everything in awe and shock.
“Let’s go watch some TV,” Derek comments as he leads Kyle out of the room. Marie looks at Kit and Crystal with a tired sigh.
“Please go make sure they don’t kill each other,” She asks tiredly and they nod. They leave to go to find Josiph and Derek. She sighs deeply as she looks at the book again. Her memories flood back to the day she found out that her grandfather tortured beings.
