Whether you’ve followed The Kitesong Trilogy from the very beginning, or you’re just discovering it now — WELCOME!
If you’re coming here directly from Flight, I’m so glad you’ve decided to continue the journey. And if this is your first step into the world of Kitesong, you’re very welcome here too.
Sight is the second book in the trilogy, but it’s also a shift in perspective.
This part of the story follows Gale, a traveling swordsman whose path has been shaped by loss, loyalty, and choices that don’t come with clean resolutions. While this book takes place years after Flight, you don’t need to have read Book 1 to understand what’s happening — everything important will be introduced naturally, and you won’t be dropped into the deep end without context.
That said, if you find yourself curious about certain characters or wondering why some relationships carry more weight beneath the surface, you can always start at the beginning with The Kitesong Trilogy – Book 1: Flight:
To celebrate the launch of Sight, we have a prequel of sorts, along with a beautiful piece of artwork!
The art features Gale and Nerina, illustrated beautifully by Blizz-Mii, and captures a quiet, warm moment between them — one that takes place before the events of this book (in the prequel). It’s soft, intimate, and meant to offer a glimpse into who these characters were before everything became complicated. This moment — between what was, what is, and what can never quite be reclaimed — sits at the heart of Sight.
I’m incredibly excited (and more than a little nervous) to finally be sharing this part of the story. Thank you for joining me on this new and exciting journey into Gale and Nerina's story. Settle in, get cozy, and I'll see you in subsequent episodes!

in case anyone's curious, tsiagisel stands for "the seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake" - I'm trying to remind myself to be content staying in my lane!
SIGHT: Gale's Story
A swordsman haunted by the past.
A kingdom on the brink of war.
A choice that cannot be undone.
Gale has spent years tracking the sisters who were stolen from him, but one night in the fields, a misjudged attack brings him face-to-face with allies he didn’t expect: Prince Etraon and his companions, returning to reclaim Zourik.
As whispers of impending invasion of Valmare reach them, Gale and his new allies uncover a far darker threat—and a web of politics and betrayal that could cost everything. Amid the danger, Gale must confront a painful choice he made years earlier: a decision that betrayed a woman he once loved, and whose consequences still shadow his every step.
Every action carries weight, and sometimes survival comes at the cost of the heart. Perfect for fans of classic high fantasy, tales of loyalty, sacrifice, and the impossible price of doing what must be done.

The plot is a continuing story, beginning with young Crown Prince Etraon, continuing with the journey of traveling swordsman Gale, and the fate of fallen Emperor Aldrich.
