Let me start by saying: I told him not to glare at the chandelier.
We were staying at this centuries-old hotel in Prague—the kind that advertises “authentic supernatural ambience” on travel sites, complete with candlelit halls, creaky staircases, and staff who look like they legally can’t smile. Naturally, I was thrilled. Morizumi? Not so much.
“Another tourist trap,” he muttered as we checked in. “There’s no actual haunting here.”
Which, of course, is exactly what someone cursed by the universe to attract paranormal chaos says right before the wallpaper starts bleeding.
By midnight, I was setting up cameras in our suite for the next episode of Ghosts, Guts, & Glamour. Morizumi sat cross-legged on the bed, sipping tea, completely ignoring the fact that the room temperature had just dropped ten degrees.
“Yo, Morizumi,” I whispered, flashlight under my chin for dramatic effect. “There’s cold air, whispers in the vents, and a chill running down my spine. That’s a trifecta of supernatural—”
He didn’t even look up. “That’s the air conditioner, Shigure.”
I opened my mouth to protest when the chandelier suddenly rattled hard enough to make me drop my camera. From the shadows above, a pale figure materialized—long hair, hollow eyes, classic eastern European wraith aesthetic. Jackpot.
“Finally!” I hissed, fumbling for my phone. “This is content!”
The ghost opened its mouth to scream—only for Morizumi to look up, sigh, and say one word.
“Leave.”
Just like that. Calm. Bored. As if he were telling a cat to get off the counter.
The chandelier exploded. The ghost vaporized into sparkles. Every candle in the hall blew out.
I stood there in the dark, mouth open, ears ringing.
“…Do you ever let the hauntings last more than five seconds?” I asked once I found my voice.
“I was trying to sleep,” he replied, as if that explained everything.
And that’s why our video from the “Haunted Hotel of Prague” is only thirty-four seconds long—twenty of which are me screaming, and the rest featuring Morizumi calmly refilling his teacup while the ghost world collectively files a restraining order.
