Many many years ago, mother nature wanted to pass on her legacy of protecting the people. She eventually decided to give the elements consciousness, among these were:

Fire
Earth
Water
Ice

Each had opinions of each other, but one thing was certain, fire and earth were as thick as thieves, water and ice, as close as kin. Eventually, fire and water grew greedy, being alive wasn’t enough for these two, they wanted bodies, control over the humans as well as control over the weather. They possessed 4 vessels, inhabiting their bodies like parasites. These people were later known as The Originals
