"9 Women, 1 Crown" The Queen Games is a story about nine women (female knight, archer, samurai, assassin, etc.) competing in a tournament to decide the next Queen. It is a medieval mashup of Suzanne Collins’ THE HUNGER GAMES meet The Bachelor.
Twenty-three-year-old Qara, a fierce horseback warrior, hopes to compete in the Queen Games—a brutal tournament that embodies the cunning and ruthlessness needed in order to rule as Queen. Qara has been mentored by the reigning Queen and raised alongside her son, the Prince. Qara shares a strictly formal relationship with the Prince while secretly hoping to become his future wife. However, after years of rigorous training, Qara has officially been chosen to represent her culture in the next Queen Games.
At the same time, the Prince is supposed to be impartial to the competitors vying to become his Queen. However, upon learning that Qara has been chosen, he reveals that she is the one he has always wanted to marry. Unfortunately, precedence dictates the Prince does not get to decide his future wife, it has and will always be determined by the prestigious Queen Games tournament. Shocked by this unexpected but deeply desired revelation, Qara reciprocates his affections. Now, the two secretly conspire to secure her victory, not because they want to be King and Queen, but because it’s the only way for them to be together.
However, Qara and the Prince must navigate sabotage, betrayal, and shifting political alliances in order for her to survive and win the Queen Games. This includes allying with a ferocious female Samurai.
