The Shadow Players

Part 1: The Start of Terror

Part 1: The Start of Terror

Jul 26, 2025

Lucy, Tom and Lilly are three adventurous children. Lucy is 13 she has dark brown ,curly hair and has round glasses. Tom is 11 he is very adventurous and has short brown hair (that sometimes becomes curly). Lastly, Lilly is 9 and is very cautious in this house. This house belonged to their great-aunt Agatha (before she died of unknown causes)… The children and their mother (the town's baker) moved into the house on a warm summer evening.

“It looks like someone died here,” said Tom loudly.

“Someone did! Great-aunt Agatha! She died here!” Replied Lucy.

“I don’t like this place,” said Lilly.

The next day, while the children sat in the living room Lucy saw something. She walked over to it on the mantle and picked it up.

“What is that!” Asked Tom curiously

“Why it’s a book, silly,”

“What is it called?”

“The Shadow Players,”

“What?”

“It’s called the Shadow Players.”

The children opened it and a gush of wind was thrown at them. The house starts creaking and a light beam can be seen from their window. The beam is coming from the woods. In the woods, they find the beam of light. Suddenly, shapes and symbols start to appear from the page to in front of them. The ground starts to shake and the book falls out of Lucy’s hand.

“Whoah!” Says Lucy

The ground starts to split in two and in the crack it is like a massive red light or a thousand gallons of lava! Lilly falls into the crack and ends up in a chamber. The chamber is circular in shape and has a table in the middle. On this table is a 3-d model… A model of their town. Lilly sits at the table and a shadow figure appears at the other end of it. Its fingers are long and slender. It dragged its finger along the Forrest and the model cracked. Lilly thinks *maybe the cracks on the model resemble the cracks in our real world*!

                                                       ***

“What happened to Lilly!” Asked their mother

“We don’t know! We were in the forest then she disappeared!”

“Well, find her now!”

The two left the house and sprinted for the woods. They grabbed their camera and switched it on and duct-tapped it to Tom's head. They saw the crack was growing larger and the light was getting brighter. Tom tied a rope around his waist and the other side to a tree. He jumped… He didn't land in the chamber though but in a replica of the town but everything was dead and really slimy. It was all grey and dull. Tom felt a breath against his neck and saw Lilly covered in slime and gunk.

“What happened?”

“I’ll tell you later, we just need to get out!”

Behind them the shadow figure appeared and grabbed Lilly by the neck and pulled her back. It sounded like paper was ripping because behind Lilly and the figure the ‘wall’ had ripped. It looked like paper that was ripped in two! Tom looked out of the paper hole and saw a massive shadow creature in the sky! It had long tentacles (10 of them). It had a massive mouth full of sharp teeth and a long, narrow, tongue. It had a slender body and its head was the size of a bungalow. The head had a red light glowing from inside it.

“Quick, get Lilly and get out!” Someone shouted.

He looked up and saw Lucy in a hole. He grabbed Lilly and climbed up the rope.

“Lilly! You’re safe!” Shouted Lucy. Police sirens wailed in the distance. They get back home at night and their mother is asleep. They all go to sleep and hope it was all a dream…..

‘If Stranger Things met A Series of Unfortunate Events.’

Lucy, Tom, and Lilly are three siblings with a knack for adventure—and a tendency to stumble into trouble. When they move with their mother, the town's friendly baker, into their late great-aunt Agatha's mysterious old house, strange things begin to stir.

It starts with a book—dusty, ancient, and hidden on the mantel. The Shadow Players. Once opened, it unleashes a gust of wind, a beam of light from the woods, and a chain of otherworldly events that send the children spiraling into a realm where reality is paper-thin... literally.

Lilly vanishes into a crack in the earth and finds herself in a secret underground chamber with a model of their town and a chilling shadow figure. Meanwhile, Tom dives into a distorted, slimy version of their home, stalked by a creature with tentacles and a mouth full of teeth. Lucy must piece it all together before their world tears apart—for real.

What secrets did Great-Aunt Agatha hide? Who—or what—are the Shadow Players? And can three kids outwit a nightmare that seems to be writing itself?

A dark, thrilling tale filled with mystery, eerie magic, and strange dimensions, The Shadow Players is a haunting adventure where the cracks in the ground may just be the cracks between worlds.
