You fool—you fell right into its trap!
She stifled another gasp as his body contorted, twisted. With his feet and body firmly in place, his head rotated 360 degrees before coming to a standstill in her direction. He faced her, feet and body one way, head the other.
The truck, Susan, even the trail...everything disappeared into complete and utter darkness. And, at the center of it all was David with his twisted body, like being wrung dry. The same blackness that coated the village now immersed him, setting him aflame.
David smiled slowly, creepily. Menacingly.
"Well, well, well," his voice was malevolent, ominous. The malicious look in his eyes was very familiar. "Welcome to my hell."

His body twitched uncontrollably, especially at the neck and shoulders. The spasms were harsh—forced—like someone on the verge of dying.
No... not he. It. This thing is no longer human.
Ivey's shoulders trembled. Her breath hitched at the back of her throat.
"Looks like the Witches and the Wizards have come to play." The face was staring at Ivey, but the body was facing the opposite direction.
I'm not from the Society...
Ivey couldn't summon the words.
Its body dashed, backward, toward her, incredibly fast, vanishing before appearing—the steps a blur. Before Ivey could even blink, the monster descended, its left arm twisting back and up, aiming for her throat with stretched talons.
Ivey heard the pop of a fractured bone as it forced its body beyond its capabilities. Her eyes widened. Her body froze.
Mentally, she was screaming to run, but her body refused, watching the long, sharp claws drawing ever closer.
