The Prophecy
With the Wicked Fox trapped in the abyss,
the Hierophant will uncover a startling plot twist.
The false sovereign will rise above all to reclaim her throne,
the Devil’s desire shall gust through like a raging cyclone.
The first trumpet will resound, releasing hail and fire to the realm,
unleashing a great evil, with the wrath of Sathanas at the helm.
The second trumpet will follow, and Her Might will make the heavens fall.
The waters turn to blood, and the mountains burn, serving as one final call.
For what lies behind the second door,
is the gluttony of the dreadful, overly indulgent Belphegor.
The third trumpet shall destroy the third seal,
transforming all water into poison for another reveal.
What was once full vitality becomes a yawn,
exposing the sloth of Abbadon.
What comes fourth is the final step before the three woes,
beneath the darkness lurks a sinister evil, only one truly knows.
Leaving the realm entrenched in total darkness and its people distressed,
what appears from our hearts is the lust of Asmodeus, no longer repressed.
And so the first woe begins,
bringing forth the final three sins.
The second woe creates uncertainty about who will step in.
The sky will fill with a bright light,
locusts shall appear, destroying everything in sight.
And the Hierophant’s messengers arrive to answer man’s plight.
The greed of Mammon, the envy of Beelzebub, and the pride of Lucifer know no bounds,
the prosperous realm of Naestrirea shall become the Devil’s playgrounds.
Episode 0: The Beginning of the End
“We have prepared everything in advance, Your Highness,” Sathanas said, kneeling before the figure in the shadows. She had no reason to fear her ruthless leader, but anything could set her off if disrespected. And so, it was extremely vital she demonstrated a reasonable level of subservience.
“Did you take care of the matter we discussed? You know how I despise failure,” the mysterious leader questioned the sin of wrath, her tone firm, and yet she sounded bored by the conversation. She had a nail filer in her hand and worked meticulously to smooth the edges of her nails, sharpening them to a point.
“All seven trumpets have been accounted for, my liege. No one will find them so long as the Vices exist to carry out your will,” Sathanas replied.
“Good. I don’t need Hirayama Sosuke interfering with my plans. We worked too hard to ensure his demise. Should anything happen, you are the first line of defense, Sathanas. Don’t disappoint me.”
“With all due respect, my liege, why do you fear Hirayama Sosuke? He is but a simple Celestial nogitsune from the Wicked Fox Clan.”
The leader of the sins arose, the silhouette of their serpentine tail looking menacing as it swayed. It was a common trait of succubi. The slap that followed sent Sathanas flying across the room.
Sathanas felt something loose in her mouth, and spat onto the ground. Covered in blood was a tooth. It would have hurt an ordinary mortal, but for a fallen angel, it would heal quickly, replacing the tooth before it was even missed.
The succubus’ black wings trembled with fury, blood dripped down her bird-like claws. “I don’t fear anyone!” she shrieked. “They should be the ones to fear me.” She took her seat before continuing. “Without the trumpets, they won’t be able to summon their gods… their almighty Hierophant. Mutsushina will only think Iniguthia has done them a favor for eliminating a tyrant. Let them think we consider Hirayama Sosuke a threat.”
“And if they uncover our plans?” Sathanas asked, already back on her feet. Her cheek stung from the blow, but was barely noticeable.
“They’ll come for the trumpets. If they blow all seven horns, they’ll send the world into utter chaos. Angels are meant to promote peace and keep everyone safe. And yet I wonder… will they watch the world burn and freeze over all for their precious god? I’d love to find out.”
“What would you like us to do, my Lady?”
“Prepare your subordinates, Sathanas. If it’s a war they want, it’s a war they’ll get.”
“Who is our target?”
“Our Goddess Nocturna has shared messages of the future with me. Our plans depend on the heir to Wuzhen’s throne, Zixin Zheng. He will become Hirayama Sosuke’s mate. We must do everything in our power to prevent them from meeting and joining forces.”
“In Mutsushina’s territory? We’ll be outnumbered.”
“That’s the point, Sathanas. Do you fear death? I would have thought you’d rise to the challenge. Darkness never truly dies. As long as we have Nocturna, there is hope for us to exist, even if it’s in a different form.”
“Forgive my impudence. I live to serve you, my Lady.”
“I’m glad to see your loyalty hasn’t changed.” Her manicured nails grazed Sathanas' shoulder, and she wondered if she was going to slap her again. Instead, she whispered in her ear, “Go and die for our cause. And make it believable.”
