After many days of lonely blizzard storms, It was the start of a brand new and very bright week. A perfect day for the annual Harvest Festival in Snowyland. This is where all the Snowbuddies can farm, cook, and sell the crops they gathered. Making activities, playing games and enjoying with friends.
Each Snowbuddy farms for different fruits and veggies. Some crops are able to grow in the snow. Others mostly grow in the greenhouse for a proper light. This is where Snowkin wakes up to see that the Harvest Festival is being prepared. She was very excited, so she went to see her special buddy.
Snowkin visits an unfinished booth that belongs to her special buddy, Huck L. Barry, and she greets him. “Morning Huck! Is the Harvest Festival starting today?” Huck explains, “Sure thing, we are preparing first thing in the morning before it starts early evening.” As Huck tries to put the banners by himself, they keep falling off. Snowkin asked, “you seem troubled, mind if I help?”. Huck nodded, and they started fixing up his booth, making it nice and clean.
Once the boxes, stool and sign are put in place. Huck’s booth is good to go. “That’s much better now!” Cheered Huck. Snowkin grinned and cannot help but hug her special buddy. He hugged back, because this wasn’t the first time. As Huck brings out the barrel where all his berries will be placed, Snowkin spotted her bestie, Kira Ninjin. She was digging out the carrots. “Wow, Kira!” cried Snowkin, “These carrots look brighter than usual!”.
Kira chuckled, “They sure are, must be because the sky is clear today!” As Kira was about to finish one row of carrots, a small looking carrot seemed to be hard to dig out. “Ack!” cried Kira, “This is a tough one!” . As Snowkin asked her, like with Huck. “Mind if I help?” and she agrees.
Snowkin borrowed an extra shovel and they both tried digging out the tiny looking carrot! “On a count of three!” Said Snowkin. “One… Two….” “THREE!” To their surprise, they dug out a large carrot with tiny leaves. They weren’t expecting it, but they were amazed with what they just dug out!
“This is a surprise!” Said Kira. “This carrot might pay you lots, Kira!” Said Snowkin. Kira was excited and placed all the carrots in the basket, “This might be my lucky day! Thanks a bunch, Snowkin!” “You’re welcome!” Replied Snowkin. “Hey! Before you leave,” Kira notified Snowkin before she turned, “Can you check if Björn is awake right now? He needs to start putting on his stall”
Snowkin agreed and went to see Björn’s stall. As expected, his stall is not yet set. Snowkin began to worry and went to Björn’s house if he’s still asleep. As she checked on his window, she saw Björn still sleeping on his bed. Guess it’s time for Snowkin to go wake him up!
She tried knocking on his window, but nothing happened, as if her knocks were not as loud as his snoring. So she went for the bell, and rang the loudest ringing she could do. Instead, Björn turned the other way of the bed.
“There’s got to be something…” Snowkin thought. Until another Snowbuddy walks up to her. He explains to her, “To wake up Björn, you need to call loud enough close to his window.” Snowkin replied, “Good Thinking. Let’s see if it works!” So, she goes close to the window where she saw him sleeping and calls out, “Wake up, Björn! You don’t want to miss the Harvest Festival!”
Björn’s eyes suddenly opened and jumped by surprise. He yelled out loud, “FESTIVAL?! Today?”. Snowkin Nodded “Oh boy! I need to get my beats ready!” He yelped excitingly. “Mind if you help?” He asked Snowkin. Of course, she nodded with a smile. So the two went to his farm full of delicious beet roots.
With the beets already fresh out of the ground. Snowkin and Björn arranged them. Each carrying trolley is packed with equally numbered beets for Snowkin and Björn to carry for his stall. They both fix up his stall, nice and clean. “Thank you for helping, Snowkin. You’re a great buddy!” He said with joy. Snowkin nodded, “No problem, Björn. Maybe at the next festival, you should try sleeping early. It’s much better.”
As the night falls. The Harvest Festival finally begins. Everyone was enjoying this simple yet wonderful experience. The Sellers sell, and buyers buy. Snowkin sees this lovely event flourish like it always does. And can’t help but say that “I guess being helpful sure does make me feel happy!”, and she was happy.
