In a destroyed world invaded by horrendous creatures, humans try to survive in two types of zones; the Toxic Forests and the Metropolis.

Metropolis are cities full of creatures, but they keep them outside with natural barriers such as piled up rocks and artificial rivers of both water and lava. There, the air is as pure as it can be, making it an easy place to live in.

In the other hand, the forest people are the ones that can survive at night without any help, they are able to breathe the toxic air that the forest's plants create under the moonlight. These humans, usually disappear thanks to the forest's dangers.

Rei Yoru is one of these humans.
