Lin Hu- Name means ‘tiger’. One of the protagonists of the story; skilled in wugong. Somewhat stoic. Has a photographic memory. 17 years old.

Lin Long- Name means ‘dragon’ The oldest brother, intelligent but very clumsy and bad at everything physical. Rather air-headed outside of academics. Jealous of Lin Hu. 19 years old. 

Lin Yan- Name means ‘swallow’ The younger sister; mischievous. Also good at wugong. 14 years old.

Lin Jian- Name means ‘spear’ Lin Hu’s father. A Wugong master who used to serve the emperor. Strict, but kind hearted. 

Guo Qingling- Name means ‘lucky years’ Lin Hu’s mother. Very motherly. Deceased. 

Ma Household

Ma Lisu- Translation of ‘Mary Sue’ to chinese. Ma li=Mary and Su=Sue. The other protagonist. A literal Mary Sue. Can do no wrong and is perfect at everything on her first attempt, including elemental cultivation. Very self-conceited but acts humble. 

Xiao Yue- Name means ‘moon’.  Ma Lisu’s most trusted servant. Exists only to give Lisu praise. 

Qingtu-Name means ‘rabbit’. The leader of Ma Lisu’s servants. Loyal and wise.  

Ma Lisha- Name means ‘sweet’ The dim-witted but nice daughter of the official wife. Friends with Ma Lisu. 

Ma Liling- Name means ‘white jasmine’ The evil scheming step sister of Ma Lisu. Unlike her mother, she doesn’t try to hide her schemes. Somehow, Ma Fu still likes her.

Chang Ying- Name means ‘clever.’ The extremely evil concubine who schemes to bring down Ma Lisu but puts on a facade of a sweet, innocent woman. 

Ma Fu-Name means ‘rich’. Ma Lisu’s father, a former high-ranking official, was kicked down from his post for being an idiot. Oblivious to Chang Ying’s schemes. A negligent father. 

Su Huian-Name means ‘obliging, quiet’. The official wife of Ma Fu who literally does nothing to stop Chang Ying. Very quiet and timid. 

Yin Cuifen-Name means ‘emerald fragrance’. Another concubine of Ma Fu. Very beautiful, but airheaded and only cares about wealth. Often falls victim to Chang Yin’s machinations. 

Ma Lina-Name means ‘beautiful, graceful.’ Su Huian’s first daughter, who often gives Ma Lisu advice. Mature.

Ma Zhibin-Name means ‘wisdom’ Su Huian’s son. Tries to protect his mother from Chang Ying but often fails. Kind but hotheaded. 

Ma Zhihuan-Yin Cuifen’s son. 

Ma Zhijun- Yin Cuifen’s son. 

Ma Zhigang-Su Huian’s son. Currently serving as a military advisor, does not have a good relation with the rest of his family. 

Ma Zhixin-Chang Ying’s son. Evil and scheming, just like his mother, but is often unsuccessful. 

Pan Zhenzhen-Name means ‘very precious’. Ma Lisu’s mother. Odd. Deceased. 

Luoyang and Fulian Residents

Dai Huiliang-name means kind and good. The Marquis of Luoyang. Stern, but moral and cares about the residents of Luoyang. Former advisor to the Emperor, but had a falling out with him. 

Dai Kang-name means well-being. Dai Huilang’s son, and also his second-hand man. 

Dai Qi-name means wondrous. Dai Huilang’s second son, 11 years old. Naive.

Zhong Nianzu-name means thinking of ancestors. Dai Huilang’s guard, a Late Stage 1 archer who’s extremely powerful. 

Liu Shi- name means rock. the owner of Liu Family Restaurant

Widow Zhang- a grumpy widow whose husband was killed in war.

Zhu Sizheng- name means to think. Lina’s husband.

Yangmen Sect

Lan Bingfei-name means ice. The stern leader of the Yangment sect, extremely uptight and has a lot of rules. 

Xia Lei-Name means ‘thunder’. Lin Hu’s wugong teacher. Eccentric.

Zeng Zhiqiang-Name means ‘strong-willed’. Lin Hu’s friend, who also learns wugong from Xia Lei. 

Huang Qiao-Name means ‘High, aspiring’ Lin Hu’s rival, also learns wugong from Xia Lei. 

Sun Shun-name means obedient. Lan Bingfei’s second-hand man, follows the rules to an extreme degree. 

He Lekang- name means health and happiness. A cultivator of the Yangmen Sect, cheerful.

Lan Bingye-name means radiant. Lan Bingfei’s younger sister, a powerful cultivator who’s a bit airheaded and arrogant.

Hao Boyi- name means versatile. An alcoholic with powerful cultivation skills.

Hu Caiyong- name means talented and strong. The son of a nobleman who ran away from home to further is cultivation process.

Xie Junli- name means beautiful and handsome. A powerful cultivator proclaimed as one of the strongest people in the world.

The Royal Court

Jun Guang-Name means ‘light, glory’. The Emperor. 

Qi Yinuo-Name means ‘one promise’. A mysterious girl who lived in the capitol at some point. Deceased.

Cheng Delun- Name means ‘order’. The Emperor’s personal advisor, a good former friend of Lin Jian. 

Huang Juncai- Name means ‘outstanding’. Huang Qiao’s father, a close advisor to the Emperor. 

Huang Qing-Qiao’s brother.

Eunuch Zhuang- the Emperor’s favorite eunuch, first name unknown. 

Li Runfa- One of the Emperor’s advisors.

The Phoenix Guild

Lucien Basilicus- First name means ‘light’, last name means ‘royal’. Leader of the adventurer guild. Perpetually friendly and upbeat, but has a hidden sadistic streak. 

Alduin Mirazana-The elf sorcerer. Lucien’s best friend. Cynical, often acts like a jerk but has a secret soft side.

Horacio Carrero-First name means ‘good eyesight’ Archer. Calm, but naive.

Perrine Dufour-First name means ‘rock’ The tank, who can dodge any object. A princess from Champ D’Iris, and a romantic at heart. 

Vofola Shadowpike-dwarf, mechanic. The caretaker of the group, but can be quite hot-headed in battle. 

El Gremio de Dos Espadas (the Two Swords Guild)

Emiliano Arevalo-name means rival. The leader of the guild, an excellent swordsman and an aristocrat. Arrogant and has a hatred for Lucien.

Felipe Casares-name means ‘one that loves horses’. A spearsman who fights on his horse, Emiliano’s second-hand man.

Lyra Mirazana-The only female member of the guild, an elf that’s Alduin’s half-sister. She bears a grudge against him due to the fact that he killed their father. 

Luis Badilla- name means ‘famous warrior’. Warrior.

Adolpho Zaragosa- name means ‘noble, majestic wolf.’ animal mage who can summon wolves to fight for him.

Celino Arellano-name means ‘heaven’. The healer, can heal people with a soothing light. 

Sans Islas- name means ‘holy’. The prophet of the group, doubles as an exorcist.

Jacabo Fuente- name means ‘supplanter’. An alchemist who acts suspiciously.

Gideon Draven-first name means ‘destroyer’ the mysterious leader of the society. A narcissist, who wants to conquer the world. 

Kasdeya Malakai-Gideon’s second-in-command and one of his four commanders, excels at poisoning people.

Damyan Keiran-One of Gideon’s four commanders, excels at manipulation.

Thana Agrona-One of Gideon’s four commanders, excels at assassination.
