It was 2025 when Ted.co came to the scene, they were a company that provided reliable things for parents and kids, they would usually have items like toys, breast-feeding equipment and clothes for both the parent and the child a like. In that they had been a company for 10 years and was always eager to invent and bring new and innovated things onto the eye of the people. But on Christmas Day, 2035 they had brought in a new invention called the "Kid for Me". The item was a chip where the parent would put inside the child's brain to make it seem easier to order them around. It started as just a prototype for the Low Ranked kids to stay out of trouble but then after five years of the chips release date it became a use made by law to make Low ranked kids have this chip inside their brain. The rule was if your child was misbehaving they would put the chip inside their brain and be sold to Ted.co store "Kid for Me" but if it was to say you were a High ranker then you had the choice to put the chip inside your child's brain and either keep them as your slave or sell them to the Ted.co. But then a High Ranked would buy the product meaning the child, this had been going on for 20 years and now they have upgraded they call it the "Kid for Me - Emotion Control" and yes it is what it's called the parent or the person who owns a Kid for Me can control the child's emotion making them be happy, sad or mad whenever they'd like. This was something people were eager for, and buy as much Kid for Me as Ted.co could offer it was like a unstoppable black market for bodies to be sold out like wild fire, it was something that someone had no must stop before it was all to late.

September 12 2055, I was going to the store with Miriam for her to buy a new dress for the party she was going to, she seemed very excited I could see it in her face "Karina, how would you describe this dress" I snickered "What do you mean describe its a cute dress, but its pretty long" Miriam then rolls her eyes "No silly I'm talking about how this dress makes you feel" I then look at the dress, it was long and had sun flowers on it with green vines circling around the flowers making it seem like they were all connected. "At peace" I said with a dazed voice "Hmm at peace that sounds like something you would say when your on vacation" she smile "Yeah you could say that" I grab on the dress feeling the silky fabric and threads "What is this party all about anyway?" I asked "This Party! This party is not just any party, its my reunion from high school and I want look my best for it" she then grab the dress and put it back on its shelf to look an see if there were more option "A high school reunion huh, that sounds lame" I yawned "Yeah you can say that but when you have memories when they like I did you won't think it's so lame after all" she grabs another dress "What about thi-" before Miriam could finish her sentence she saw my confused yet sad eyes.

Memories is something I wish I could have but I can not contain them. You see, I was a runaway from the Ted.co I did not want to be "one of them" so I ran away and stumbled upon Miriam, she took me in and told me her story. She was low ranked who took care of her daughter name Celia but one horrifying day her daughter had an tantrum over a toy but police officers were around the area and took Celia away from her from that day on she worked hard to became a high rank so that she could get Celia back but once she because a high ranked she tried and looked for the whereabouts of her daughter it was to late and Celia had already been sold to another high rank. Since I've been with Miriam she is kind and treats me like a daughter we still have to be hidden because of the look outs all about this city but so far I've been kept in safety thanks to Miriam. "Memories" I mumble to myself Miriam had a sorry looks on her face and then open her mouth to speak "Oh sweetie I didn't mean to make you feel like this, right now we have memories and trust me on this we will continue to have many more in the future" she then gives me a hug I hug her back tightly in joy of having her here. "Miriam thank you, you are such a sweetheart" she giggles "I should be saying that to you". She picked out the dress we saw before and went in line to pay for it, but in front of us was a child being taken away for "Kid for Me", I tried not to look up but I glanced at the father yelling and screaming at the police officer not to take his child away. "Please Officer!! she's just a little girl 13 years old she doesn't know what she's doing!" the man screams "Well that's your fault for making she not know what she is doing" the man drags her away and tries to put her inside the car "Daddy I'm scared! Help me please!" the child cries but then stops once she gets sprayed "T-TAYLOR....my baby how could they" the man cries out of the store as all eyes follow his foot steps "Ugh, what a horrific scene" a angry woman signed "Parents these days don't know how to take care of there kid and well that is what will happen if such a thing is going on" she continues her conversation with the other customers in the store "You know, one lady around here was trying to get her daughter back after being taken away but it was to late and got sold to one of the people are the Royal side of the town" Miriam tightens her hands forming it into a fist "Really now! what was her name?" the lady questioned "Oh it was....Oh silly me it was Miriam I think she used to go to my old school to" after those words were spoken out loud right in front of us, a swarm of whispers traveled around the store once Miriam was done buy her item she grabbed my hand a ran out of the store out of embarrassment .

We got inside her can and a sigh of relief came out of Miriam "People need to mind their own business damn it, I can't even go to the store without people reminding me of the regretful moment" her eye soon full up with tear "I-I miss her so much and people just don't know that! They....think I sold her to them why would someone think of such a thing" I put my hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eye "I know someone like you would never have the idea of doing such a thing, your soul it just pure and fair but people don't see that" after my speech I gave Miriam I hug something she needed after that moment. This world is so scary and yet we have to act like nothing is happening so that we can stay safe or "happy" but I don't want to wear a makes anymore. Miriam giggles "Thank you Karina you have such a big heart I wish everyone was just I little sample of you" I smile "Yeah I guess so"
