As he snuck away from the mansion that would forever haunt his nightmares, Kye contemplated what he would do once he had made sure his presence would no longer cause the loss of people he loved.He felt he would never gain back his childhood, forever thrown into adulthood. He looked around his surroundings, contemplating where to go.

The Woods.

Once a person went into the woods, they are never heard from or seen again. People claim they are evil woods, made by a dark force long ago, to destroy lives. People who have no will to live, who want to leave and never come back, go into the woods and die. That's what people say, at least. 

You may be wondering who these people are. The maids in the mansion liked to tell the gossip to entertain him. He was forbidden to go outside, though the maids didn't know why that was. If Chris was to ever find out about the fact that he even knew how to talk, all the maids would disappear. He was thankful to the gardener's daughter for bringing him flowers and breaking him out of the horrid house.

Looking back into the woods that held his future, or lack thereof, he decided,' Screw it. I'm going to die anyway. Might as well see what's in the woods' 

And there our protagonist goes, deep into the dark woods, hoping to never be found by Chris or his goons.
