Trace of You

Introduction

Introduction

Aug 06, 2021

Hello everyone!

First off, thank you for deciding to check out Trace of You! :) I really appreciate that you took the time to check this story out! I usually don’t write introductions for my novels, but for this one, I felt that it was necessary as the central topic of this story is based around Alzheimer’s.

This project was something I worked on during my hiatuses to help with my writer’s block, so it’s intended to be a shorter story compared to my other ones. I decided to write this story in the form of diary entries (I know there's a word for it but I forgot xD). I wanted to convey the protagonist’s feelings and thoughts on his experience with Alzheimer’s and felt that a regular first-person approach wouldn’t do this story justice. To be quite honest... I was a bit hesitant to release it since this was just a side project of mine that I didn't intend to let out in the wild. ^^"

There will be times where the story gets a bit heavy and dark, but I hope you’ll be understanding. If it becomes too much, feel free to stop whenever it’s needed! It’s definitely not an easy topic to digest and I understand that this story may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

While this story won’t always be happy and light-hearted, I do hope you’ll be able to enjoy it nonetheless! Thank you again for taking the time to check out Trace of You!

Ohhhh, I saw your post on forums and was excited for your new book. I'm reading Lucky Charm at the moment. I liked it a lot! Sadly I can't read sad stories as they are too heartbreaking to me. They make me upset a lot for a long while. Anyway, I wanted to leave a comment to tell you that I cheer for any of your stories 🙂

31-year-old French pastry chef, Ethan Jung, finds that he is running out of time. Soon, one by one, his most cherished memories will fade away with him until he remembers nothing. Faced with early on-set Alzheimer’s at the prime of his life, Ethan had been desperately trying to keep things normal—or as normal as he could.

In a last-ditch attempt, he sets out to find his mentor and first love: Alex Sokolov. It seems like a simple enough task, but meeting his old flame proves to be tougher than it seems—especially if one’s memory is rapidly deteriorating.

Will he succeed with the little time he has left?
