“Dude!” Milo chuckled as he sat down in the locker room. “That's so gay!”
“Naw, man! Just brotherly love!” Kayden laughed as he hugged his friend James.
Hmmm, gotta love the locker room banter. Always something about “that's so gay” or “your mom” or wiping sweat on others. I once heard someone talking about marrying Mickey Mouse or something.
We were in the locker room after a tough practice. The school year had officially started and so did soccer.
I was finally a senior this year. The leader/king of the school. I am so ready for the senior seating in the cafeteria and the big field trip to Los Angeles at the end of the year. Of course graduation but that's not the highest thing on my list.
I look around the locker room and see the guys shirtless and hitting each other with their shirts. It doesn't surprise me. I look to the other side and see a few guys minding their business and gathering their stuff.
I feel a tap on the shoulder and look up to see Milo. “Do you need a ride home today?”
“Yes. My mom took away my keys. Again.”
He rolled his eyes. “Oh no. What did you do this time?”
“I might have forgotten to do the dishes.”
“Forgot or just flat out didn't do?”
“He. No one can say for sure.”
“Dude. you have to stop getting your keys taken away! I might have a girlfriend soon and I won't be able to take you home everyday.”
“A girlfriend?! You?!” I laugh.
“Shut up! I could easily get a girlfriend!” He laughs.
“Ehhh- im not so sure about that.”
“Fine then. How about you get a girlfriend.”
“Alright. I will.”
“Great. First one to get a girlfriend owes the other $50.” He smirks.
