“Damn these beasts are getting worse,” I said as I froze the last one in ice.

“Oh come on Blue, don’t tell me you’re getting soft and not up to the challenge.”

“I told you don’t call me blue, it’s Drift if anything. You’ve known me for how long?” I started

“I know, but you get just like my partner when I call you by a nickname.”

“Flare, you need to be taking your job more seriously. Plus I don’t want to know about your personal life. If anything happens to either of us, it would be better not to leak the other’s info so that way the town can still be protected and we both aren’t compromised.”

Flare then shattered the beast, saying “Alright party pooper, at least I know our town is in competent hands.“ Flare Stated as he went back to Drift’s position, “Well I’ve gotta get going, got plans for tonight with friends and See ya Blue!” Flare said as he flew off.

“Bye Flare.” Drift said.

"Kalt, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, Fier just hoping to see something scary today, after all, it is Halloween."

"True, but don't forget about our movie marathon tonight of Massacre with the others." 

"Yeah so don't worry about it, the slasher marathon starts tonight my rainbow-flavored friend."

"Shut it, Connor, we don't need to announce the whole event that we're Gay,” I said.

“I don’t have to, you and Fier are literally holding hands,” Connor said.

“Quiet before I commit a hate crime,” I joked.

“Kalt stop, it won’t be a hate crime because you’re both minorities.”

We laughed at how stupid we sounded.

“Children, please stop with the stupid comments, we’re in public, “ A girl said walking over.

“ Yes mom,” Me and Fier said in unison.

“I walked right into that didn’t I?”

“ Yes, yes you did Blair."

"Anyways, how did things go with your father finding out about Fier, Kalt?" Blair asked.

"It went fine. He’s pissed as per usual, but what else is new." I responded

“ You really shouldn’t have to live like this Kalt, no one deserves to be ridiculed by their own father for stuff they can’t help, I love you, Kalt,” Fier said, turning towards him and gently resting his forehead on mine.

“ I love you too,” I said, pulling Fier into a hug, and burying my head in his shoulder.

 “Awww,” Blair, Mare, and Connor said in unison.

“Will you guys cut it out!” I said to them, from within Fier’s shoulder

“What exactly happened when you told your father?” Blair asked.

“Well fortunately nothing was thrown, but he still yelled at me, he was racist and classist as expected, but threatening the company’s future was the only way to get him to shut up about the situation.”
