I walked down the streets of Isledale, constantly having its residents ask me questions regarding on what they were trying to sell or rip-of. I stopped at a familiar shop's door, its sign reading 'Nerium Mirror, Witchdoctor shoppe'. I hesitantly opened the door and walked in, seeing a woman with purple eyes, black blue-streaked hair, barbed wire headband and scar across her neck, stacking shelves with new herbs. She glanced at me from the corner of her eye "Can I help you?" she asked, continuing to unbox and stack the jars "You're Umber, right? Akire's cousin?" "Who's asking?" she spat "The only ripper demon she knows" I answered. Umber thought for a few seconds "She's in the back making orders" "Thanks?" I walked into the back of the shop, finding Akire standing at a table with her head buried into some potion book "Shards" "Hey Death- Death?" she looked at me, a bit surprised "Why so surprised?" "Because last time you were here, you gave off the impression of having a strong dislike towards me and others of the same existance" Akire answered. "...what are you doing here?" she asked, placing the jar in her hand back on the table "I came for a couple of reasons, can I?" "...sure" Akire gestured to a stool seated by the table she was working at "I'd like to ask you for a favor" Akire smirked, leaning against the table "Now that's something I thought I'd never hear from a torture demon, especially you-" "Yeah, well... this is actually very important to me" I told her, seriousness painted on my face. "...what do you want?" Akire asked and in response, I simply gave her the small bag I had been carrying. Akire looked inside the bag then immediately back at me "Are you serious? a teddy bear and its head?" I signed at her question as she quickly glanced back in the bag "You could've just simply asked Angel or someone to sew the head back on-" "Akire" she went silent as she looked at me and I can guarantee you there was only dead seriousness plastered onto my face.
"Only you and two other people beside the royal family know about this 'cross-patch family'... you know my horrid past" I started "Yeah, your first year and-a-half" Akire said "But this is just a teddy bear, there's a number of excuses you can make to get this thing fixed-" "There's something I want done to the bear before it's sewn back together" I interrupted, somewhat gaining Akire's attention. "I want this placed inside" I held out a pale blue stone as it glowed brightly in my hand while Akire stared at it in disbelief "Is that a-" "Yeah... it is" I confirmed as she stared at the stone. Akire thought about it for a minute "...what do I get out of this?" she asked, I signed at her question "At this point, the cheapest thing you want" I answered yet my choice of words proved to be a mistake as Akire smirked "If I do this for you, I want one thing" "And what would that be?" I questioned, standing up as I looked at the witchdoctor "I want to hear your story".
I brought over a tray of dirty cups over to the bar as Nile continued to serve those sitting at the bar counter "Morning shift is never this busy" I said as Nile placed new full drinks on my tray "Yeah, nothing special or important is on today-" "It's New Years and a couple of demons had a wedding last night" I jumped a bit as Angel answered our questioning, standing by the bar. "Angel? What are you doing here?" Nile asked "Death called, said you guys needed some help" she answered as she looked around "And by the looks of it, he was right to call... everyone's on working this shift" "And the rest of the day as well if this is an aftermath of a demon wedding" Nile said, handing Angel a tray of drinks. "Booth seven" "On it" Angel walked off towards table seven as I looked back at Nile "Aftermath of a demon wedding?" "Yeah, Hell's wedding 'after parties' last much longer than a usual one" Nile explained "People down here use weddings as an excuse to go out and get drunk" "Oh..." I looked down at the tray. "That's booth nine" Nile said as he started making a few new drinks for the next table "Right" I picked up the tray and made my over to booth nine as I let my thoughts consume my mind.

"Miss Burns, I find that this conversation is completely unnecessary-" "But your majesty..." Rochelle angrily signed midsentence as she stood in the Court House in front of Jadarius, Aristomache and Satan. "Please excuse myself for 'stepping out of line' but this is a ripper demon I'm talking about-" Jadarius laughed a bit at Rochelle's words "This is Death, the very demon who's overly interested about an angel, he's grown soft-" "Really? That's what you think of him?" Rochelle questioned the Threat Wing prince. "We all know this child's history and haven't you seen the outcome of yesterday's Cleansing Day?" Rochelle asked as Jadarius rolled his eyes "Death has always contributed to cleansing days-" "Everything and everyone he killed yesterday, he did for the fallen angel" Rochelle's words caught the attention of the royals. A small smirk crawled onto Satan's face "Really?... now that's an interesting turn..." "Grandfather? What do you mean by that?" Aristomache questioned Satan as Jadarius folded his arms. "It means that the young ripper demon has started getting attached to the fallen angel" Jadarius answered Aristomache "Give me the word and I'll immediately remove the angel from-" "There'll be no need for that" Satan assured his grandson "I might've just found the 'wild card' I've been looking for..." Satan's smirk grew a bit bigger. "Your majesty, please... Death might be an alpha ripper, he must undergo training-" "That is enough miss Burns" Satan hushed the councilor "No such thing is needed, you are excused" Satan told her.
I opened the door to the casino, seeing that my friends had closed up the casino for the night. I smiled a bit as I walked in, spotting Alan, Martin and Angel wiping down the booths. I walked over to Angel "Hey, thanks for helping out with the casino today" I smiled a bit "Well, just think of it as calling in a long owned favor" Angel responded before moving onto the next booth as I let out a breath. I walked over to the bar as Nile opened a new box of alcohol. I grabbed a couple bottles got of the box "Thanks Death" Nile tiredly smiled "No problem" I smiled back as I helped him restock the shelves behind the bar. After a minute, I grabbed out an old clipboard with paper and a pen, writing down a couple things that I needed to order for the casino before pausing for a few seconds... how am I only just remembering this now? "Hey guys, come here" everyone looked at me with confused faces "Come on- stop what you're doing and come over here" I told them. June, Martin, Alan, Gamer, Nile, Zakaria and Angel walked over to the bar as I placed eight cups on the counter before grabbing a bottle of whiskey and opening it. I poured a bit of the toxic liquid into each cup before placing the bottle down and handing everyone their own cup, being sure to leave one for myself "Special occasion or some 'New Years' excuse as everyone else who was here today?" Martin questioned as I held back a small laugh "Special occasion, trust me...". I looked at both Angel and Gamer "About this time last year... Gamer arrived in Hell and Angel finally had her first official day in Hell" I stated, both Gamer and Angel smiling a bit at the thought that I remembered "So..." I lifted my glass up "To Gamer and Angel's first official year of surviving Hell" I toasted as everyone smiled, the sound of glasses clinking together before we all took a sip from our own glass. After taking a sip, Gamer made a weird face, most likely a reaction to the bitter taste of the drink as everyone else laughed a bit "No way people drink this crap every night" Gamer complained, making a couple of us laugh a bit more "Sorry mate, forgot about the possibility that you haven't drank alcohol yet" I laughed as Gamer angrily pouted at me.
I was sitting in my room on the bed, going through a few things on my phone... well more of writing myself a list of things I needed to do tomorrow. I signed... of all things, nothing exactly interesting happens today other than me tell Akire- I paused for a second... I actually told someone about my life before... my past is no longer secret. I held my head in one of my hands... this can't end good- that witchdoctor demon now has something personal to use as blackmail if she wanted to, I can't risk crap like that- ..."You have to promise me you won't tell a fucking soul about-" "Death" I looked at Akire, there was absolute truth in her eyes "I swear on Satan's life and my own that no soul will hear your truth from my mouth" she promised, placing a hand over her heart as she looked down at me as I sat in the chair. "I'm not that type of demon, I assure you Death" Akire kindly smiled a bit... no. Akire promised and assured me that she wouldn't tell anyone, not even Angel or Gamer... I guess I just have to completely trust Akire and her word... even if she is from Isledale, I just have to trust her. I signed "My fucking lord-" someone knocked on my bedroom door "Come in" I responded, turning off my phone and placing it to the side as the door opened and closed, I turned my head to the door to see Gamer "Hey, what's up?" I asked "Well um... something... happened" he nervously told me "Okay- just now or...?" "Sort of a minute ago" Gamer answered. "Alright... what happened?" I asked, full attention on the fallen in front of me "Uh well... Zakaria and I were just talking about an idea- a bucket list or something but then I... felt something weird on my lower back and u-uh..." Gamer's words faded. I got off the bed and walked over to Gamer "Can... can I take a look?" I asked, Gamer hesitantly nodded his head and a second later, he had taken his hoodie off and lifted up the back of his t-shirt while I looked at his back- I froze for a second, staring in disbelief.
"Death?" "I-I... never seen that- that wasn't there before, right?" I asked as I stared at the small black pentagram tattoo that was now on the fallen's lower back "No... not until a minute ago" Gamer answered- I immediately grabbed the back edge of his shirt and pulled it back down, covering the new tattoo. "Death-" "Sorry" I quickly apologized as he turned to face me, his eyes filled with confusion "I-I think... it might be a tattoo to mark your first year of Hell" I suggested "Angel's pentagram tattoo on her hand kind of looks the same, so... it's probably a mark innocent people get if they spend about a year in Hell" "Maybe...?" Gamer sort of agreed. "Okay well- wait... bucket list?" I questioned as the fallen shyly smiled a bit.
