A bright light shines at me making me shield my eyes with my arm. I hear a rustling behind me and an eerie presence. My skin crawls and hesitantly, I turn around. My eyes meet with a woman with her back facing towards me. She wore a light purple dress, her corset tied up in a neat knot with golden lace. Her hair was brown, long, and bouncy. She turns around and green eyes pierce through my skin. Eyes green like mine, except hers are sickly. My sister, Lillian, smiles at me extending a hand towards me. 

"Care for a dance, Kali?"

I took a step back, Lillian. I didn't want anything to do with her. Even this room has no doors I will not hesitate to run. I will not let her have this, though this is exactly what she wants. The face she hides behind prevents this need, and she will come to haunt my dreams to satisfy her sick dreams. 

Before I take the first step I feel her arm grab me and pull me back towards her. Fear fills my veins as I look up at her; she's always bigger in my dreams. It makes me feel so small, so helpless. I'm dreaming, I could stop and scream at her and turn the narrative against her but I can't. It's almost as if an invisible force is controlling us like a puppet. We play the same show over and over again with Lillian being the main villain towards me. The corner of her lips perks up into a smile. I can't do anything but stare at her.

   "Kali.." she coos, "oh Kali.."

   She spins me around and draws me closer towards her, my face inches from hers.

   Her voice drops, "you know if you were like me you too could get nicer things."

   I look at her in confusion, then out of nowhere, she jumps in my face, "you almost had your chance, but you blew it!" she erupts in laughter and all I can do is stare in horror. Before I can slip in a word she continues.

   "You know, if you weren't such an ass I'd actually consider you giving you the crown-"

   "Lillian. That's enough!" I pushed back from her grip and stared at her with angry eyes. Where did that come from? My dream finally took a turn for the best for me.

   Lillian stood in the middle of the room, her face was blank as if she was reset. A light in her eyes returned that I hadn't noticed before.

   She lifts her head in my direction, "come on," she whispered in a soft whining tone, "I'm just playing, like old times."

   I could see the clearer photo now. Everything seemingly was put back into order. I was taller than her, that sparkle in her eye was back. She looked like the version of herself I saw when I was younger. What happened? Why did it change now? I built up a sweat looking into her eyes, they look so... soft.

   They've always looked down upon me, mockingly, and without any love for me. Had it always been this way, or was it all made up in my head? Memories began to flood my head like a hostile game of tug and war.

   She looks nice now, but think of all the things she's done to me. She taunts me, because of her I was cast aside in the shadows. I never shined because of her. You know what she did. You want more than the life you're living right now. You would dream of murder.
