Gone 

Everything is gone 

The Light comes and steals like a thief 

All that is valuable snatched with ease and 

I am left

bleeding

Blinded 

Buckling under the weight of my skin 

Stretched so thin that it becomes 

foreign to my eye

The heat is so hot it burns 

So bright it sears 

I can’t see my tears

She told me to run

Nana told me to go 

as fast as my legs could take me

But my feet have never gone so far 

from home 

Far from sister

Why am I the one who made it and not my 

Sister 

She spoke better than I ever could 

Nana told her all the stories 

Nana taught her the Ways

Nana sung her the songs 

and taught her the magic

I only watched from afar

Eyes and ears too imperfect 

I only catch echoes of everything 

like an empty room 

I hold nothing 

I am nothing compared to her

Yet I’m the only one running 

She would be quicker 

Be Faster 

Better

She could warn the others better 

She wouldn’t stutter or stop

The Light should have taken me

Why did it take everything of worth from my home?

Why would it leave me?

I am not even good enough to die with them…

I wasn’t even good enough to cry for them…

Maybe this is my punishment…
