The wind was worse than it had been all week, my breath came out in clouds of fog, blinding me. "Crap." I said, looking down at the piece of wood I had just hit with my axe, the edges were rough and it was to big by half. "That's enough for today, can't see a dang thing.i walked over to the shed to put away my axe when a sudden, harsh female voice reached my ears. "Are you possibly Kiri Tseng?". I whipped my head around to see a radio head.

I live in in Miscop (now called Yosemite national park). Unfortunately since the state elected president Cattivo he has made a company called radar that takes teens at random to morph them with animals each year. They're called radar heads due to the fact they have a radar coming out of the top of their skull, they're the ones who take the teens. (Current year: 1960) I have never seen one and never wished to but this appears to not be at all my lucky day.

My heart picks up speed as I look at the radar head, my tall, fair skinned, long black hair and deep blue eyes reflecting in their black shiny eyes like a black lake. "W-why are you h-ere?!" I stutter in fear as my mum and my 12 year old brother, just three years younger, run out and stop behind me. The sharp voice cuts through the cold night air like a knife. "Isn't it obvious?" The radar head says, sneering at me. My moms eyes widened. "N-no, it can't be!?!?" My mom says in horror. "I'm sorry mam but Kiri has been picked in the lottery! So hand her over," the radar head says cheerfully. My mom, acting like any decent mom would do, steps in front of me......
