Andra walked through the crowd of the city, keeping his head down he seemed to speed up when passing through shadows. Skyscrapers lined that path he walked on casting looming shadows that seemed to twist into hands reaching out to grab him. As usual no one took notice leaving him to question if this was all some sick joke his brain was playing on him or if those around him just chose to ignore the creatures to protect themselves. He sighed mentally cursing himself for not being used to this by now and picking up the pace of his walk. After a bit he reached his usual coffee shop placing an order and standing near the counter to wait for it, by the time he had his coffee the weather had worsened so Andra decided to grab a seat at one of the tables and wait out the rain that he was sure was to come.
The soft chime of the bell adorning the door caused Andra to look up noticing a man around his own age who just walked in. The first thing Andra noticed was that he had practically white hair with dark roots but he soon found his eyes wandering more noticing the pale purple hoodie the man wore partnered with beat up red, high top converse. As the man turned around Andra was quick to avert his eyes and make it seem as if he had been focused on the wall infront of him. He was snapped out of his thoughts when a figure entered his veiw, a slender hand with neatly painted nails resting on the back of the chair across from him.
When his eyes met with the strangers he immedietly recieved a warm smile from the man he now recognised from earlier, "do you mind if I take a seat?"
Andra hessitated before giving a nod, "of course go ahead."
"Thanks, I'm Levi," the man who Andra now knew as Levi took a seat across from him.
"Andra, I feel like we've met before do I know you from somewhere?" he took a sip from his coffee as he finished speaking.
Levi thought from a moment "hm perhaps? Do you go to the university of Chicago? I'm studying art there."
"No, you must just have a familar face then I guess," Andra shrugged.
"What do you do then? Are you in college or working?" Levi seemed genuinely interested to know as he spoke, a welcome change compared to the majority of people Andra interacted with.
"Oh I work as a tutor but I'm currently working on a novel series the first book will be published in a few months."
This seemed to peek Levi's interest as he had completely abandonned the drink he had at this point, they ended up talking for nearly an hour only ending because Andra had to get to work. Before he left however Levi did give Andra his phone number insistant that they should talk again sometime.
The story of Andra a young aspiring author, followed and tormented by horrifying creatures his whole life he decides to use his experiences to fuel his creativity and write a novel series. No matter how much he wants to write his series he still wishes day after day for freedom. Finally his wish is heard but who would of thought it would come in the form of a cheery art major?
