there is a man, calling out from the alleyway, calling out for someone to help him. i couldn't care less and i start to walk away. "Emo chick! over here!!" i hear him yell. of course hes reffering to me when he says that, and since i have nothing better to do, i start walking into the alleyway. the old man looks at me for a second, analizing every detail. he proceeds to take out a book; an old, almost completly burnt book. "take this book and set us free" he says, voice more raspy than before. "the hell does that mean old man?" I ask. he kicks the old brick wall in anger, though it doesn't frighten me. i've seen to much of this drunken behavoir to be dazed by it anymore. "don’t question it, just take the goddamn book, kid!" i think of my options. if i don't take the book, he might get hostile and start a fight. if i do, then i'll have an old burnt book that'll flake up in my messenger bag. i decide to take it, not wanting to start a fight.
